New gods?

Post by Legault » Fri Mar 17, 2006 2:40 am

********, Initiate of Shevarash

I saw this on the who list, and got curious. Are there new gods that we can now follow?

Kelemvor posted this on another post related to the faith levels when someone asked.
But yes, after a very gracious offer from Waukeen to oversee things we will now start considering applications from players to play followers of uncoded deities.

You are not guaranteed a yes and the support you receive will be limited to questing and some simple items reflecting your uncoded deity. However, a suitably well-thought out background and an indication that you are familiar enough with the deity in question will likely see you application allowed.

If she has time, I'm sure Waukeen will expand on this with any other requirements and instructions
You can find that post at http://www.forgottenkingdoms.com/board/ ... php?t=4953

Other than that, I am almost positive there is not another coded god for characters to follow. If there is I am sure the diety team will let us know all in good time.

Hope that helps a bit though. :)

I think this should help:

http://www.geocities.com/rtrmdnd/gods.html

Though if there are any Gods on the Blacklist, perhaps they should be listed out on a sticky note?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:F ... ms_deities

This is a linking to a list of deity related topics on almost all forgotten realms deities (save for three I believe) and interloper deities and worshiped demonics. Enjoy (edit some of the deities featured are from dnd and might not be available in FR canon or lore)

Please bear in mind that one of the stipulations for following an uncoded God is a knowledge of that diety. This is something which we consider in the application.

Better to approach the application from that point of view than by looking down a list of uncoded Gods and saying 'Hey that one looks cool' I'll apply for that ;)

Besides the deities restricted by Waukeen in her post:

There's a few others who might need special consideration:

Finder Wyvernspur: As I recall, has not ascended to godhood in FK timeline.

Iyaxthu Xvim: Seeing as Bane's godson is ultimately consumed to renew Bane in the realms, and Bane is a coded god planned for introdution in a later RP, it would put a cramp in your non-coded worship to have this deity once Bane returns.

Bane: related to above, while not IN the game right now, is coded and will return in RP.

Dead Gods: Realize that some FR deities are now dead (Jergal, Myrkul, Bhaal, Leira, and others) While it would not be totally far fetched to have some believer hanging onto a futile faith, you wouldn't be making a priest thinking to follow said deities, seeing as you would NOT be granted any spell ability by a dead god ICly.

Jergal is not dead, he is Seneschal now, (Divine Butler and chamberlain) of Kelemvor. He still has some followers.

Finder has a player character, though I am not sure if it is for his eventual accession or just some player that named a pc Finder. ( I am in agreement that no one should apply for him yet though, just to be safe)
