Cure Blindess?

Post by Mariela » Mon Aug 28, 2006 6:53 pm

All right.

In theory, we do not cast "spells" that are not memorized right?

Everytime I put in, cast cure Bob'sname, wether or not I have cure blindess memorized, it cures their blindness. I have to specifically say, cast 'cure critical' Bob'sname.

Umm. Ookay. I leave this in your hands! :)

Most likely you are casting that for two reasons. One your not specifying what cure spells. Alphabetically blindness is first. Second cure spells can by default replace any memorized spell that has been memorized. Try using the moderate serious and critical portions of the spell names.

Yes.
But should it be targeting a spell that I do not even have memorized??

That is my main concern. Cause what is the point of having to memorize it if the code will come up and allow me to cast anything randomly.

The answer is yes.

Help Spontaneous Casting:

A good or neutral cleric can spontaneously cast a 'cure' spell in place of a
prepared spell of the same level or higher. An evil cleric, (or a cleric of an
evil deity) can spontaneously cast a 'cause' spell in place of a prepared
spell of the same level or higher. The divine energy that the cure or cause
spell substitutes for is converted into the cure or cause spell as if that
spell had been prepared all along.

That is the oddest thing I have ever seen.

Thank you! :)

Note that it should be limited to cure light/moderate/serious/critical. I'm not sure why cure blindness was included.

I guess it was for ease of code... allowing all spells whose name starts with "cure" to be cast spontaneously.

If that is the way it works, that's the way it works.

So everyone who travels with me will never be blind again! Bwhahahaha! :) Of course if I do not remember to fully type out which cure, you may never be healed again either.
