I would like to add what Dalvyn started and I would like to add that many times have I stayed up tell 3 in the morning and had to get up at 6 for work..
Or rescheduled a meeting at work because a roleplay started saturday at 10 am...
I also understand that some people simply can't do this...
I also understand that some people simply do not want to try
If it is something you want to do... try your heart out to do it...
If your favorite TV show is on... there will be reruns... or get TiVo (records shows on your TB legally).
Some players have come on to play when they are sick... or after having a heart problems... I had pneumonia and I still made it to a certain RP. It's fun! It takes your mind off of being sick.
I'm not trying to make anyone play... but if it is something you truly like... then it won't let you down... a favorite TV show? Or playing, interacting and having fun with people your own age (unless your Gwain) and have the same interests! It's exciting!
Try... try your little hearts out to make this the best ever not only for you... but for RPers around the world
(Yeah... i'm a bit crazy and i had to put my 2 copper in... sorry if i offended anyone)

I did not mean to be "tooting my horn" but reading it again... i guess it seams like that...
I would like to stress the fact that many people have done this... and i'm not saying people don't do it... but the fact that it makes me sad that some people would choose a TV show over a fabulous game as this... but then again... there are some people who do not enjoy it as much as I.
I am sorry if i insulted people... nor am i trying to imply that people don't make sacrifices nor am i trying to get people to set aside their real life for the game.
(hangs head in shame) i guess i should just stop talking then... I do not mean to cause harm or aggravation in any way

Everyone makes their own choices. I don't condemn anyone for choosing a TV show over rp, or any other activity over another. But yes, Dalvyn's point is a good one. If you do make a choice to do something other than attend an rp, please have the courtesy not to state what it is unless you are sure it won't be taken poorly. If someone told me that they'd rather watch a TV show than attend my rp, I'd be offended. But wait! If I choose to watch the Superbowl rather than attend an rp myself, I think it is fine to just say "I'm sorry, I can't make it" if I had already attended one. If I am NEW to the rp, I wouldn't say anything. I just wouldn't involve myself.
Some things are universally given as acceptable. Family, Illness, Unforseen Emergencies, Work, etc. But still, if you are not already involved in an rp and have not been asked directly about attending, what is the point in offering that you won't be there?
