Fighter Guilds

Post by Leohand » Thu Mar 08, 2007 4:11 pm

My fighter joined the fighters guild in Waterdeep, then in travels was offered a chance to join another. It is my understanding that you can only be in one fighters guild, so if I were to join, would I cease to be a member of the waterdeep guild?

Im pretty sure that is not true. You can join guilds in different cities. I know code wise it is, an admin will have to shine some light if it is code abuse to do it, I wouldn't think it is.

Well, I mainly asked because I don't want to be booted out of the Waterdeep Guild, because ther are real in char benifits to that one, lol. I wont list them here though.

Code wise you will not be booted. You will just have done what the other guild recruiter wanted for gaining access.

There are "guilds" and there are "guilds".

"Guilds" as in "what your character is": you can only join one of them. That means that a warrior cannot become a fighter AND a paladin for example; or that a wizard cannot become a mage AND an invoker.

"Guilds" as in "IC organizations supported by PCs or only by mobs": you can join as many of them as you want. Note though that there might be IC consequences to joining more than one guild. For example, it is quite likely that you get booted from the spy guild if you join a guild of evil thieves as well; or that you get booted from the Fighters guild of Silverymoon if you join the Fighters guild in Zhentil Keep as well. Those "being booted" are not always coded, but it's up to you to behave ICly.
