[feat] Spellcasting prodigy - does it apply to priests?

Post by Hviti » Sat May 12, 2007 12:29 am

Well, the title pretty much sums it up - does spellcasting prodigy apply to priests, or is it only effective for wizards? Thanks.

Although the wording of the feat specifies 'spell casting' this applies to all users of divine or magical spells.

Doesn't this feat increase INT? Making it much more useful for Wizards then Priests?

I believe it makes the prime casting stat(INT for wizards and WIS for priests, CHA for bards?) count as one higher for casting purposes. It does not raise any stats.

I'd appreciate a little help in character building. I am a cleric (er, priest) with the Spellcasting Prodigy feat. My wisdom has just been trained up to the level of 'sagacious'. I'm not sure what number that represents, though. I know I need to get it up to 19 to ever cast max level spells (presumably 17 with the prodigy feat), but I'm not sure what that is in descriptive terms.

Any suggestions on where to allocate my future stat points would be appreciated. Thanks!

I doubt I am revealing anything not known to most players by saying that with most stats, the title change comes on the third point allocated.

Thus, for Wisdom you have

Wise being 12, 13 or 14
Sagacious being 15, 16 or 17
and Omniscient being 18 or above

All stats have at least one trainer in game that allows you to train the stat to 20, though yes... with the spellcasting prodigy you only need to get to 17 to guarantee the casting of 9th level prayers.

Never thought to ask this one. Do older PCs, those created before feats came into the game, have any option to train the spell prodigy feat even though they are past L4?
