Rumor has it there exists an object in game which changes a PC's alignment for so long as it is worn-- I have need of a similar prog in my area, but I don't know how to store the PC's original alignment so it's restored whenever the item is removed. Any suggestions?
Additionally-- will said change in alignment (which is on an evil quest object, meant to be used for sneaky and deceptive purposes) mess with a PC's evil faith, etc? If so, is there a way to prevent that?

Editing PC alignment temporarily
Dear Enemy: May the Lord hate you and all your kind, may you be turned orange in hue, and may your head fall off at an awkward moment.
Wouldn't it be possible to set a flag (if a flag exist) that allows the alignment to change when the item is worn and then terminates when removed? That way it does not tamper or change the set pc align but creates a flag over it?
May you find the knowledge you seek. If you find something else, it is still knowledge, and as such, still a gain.

I'm not aware of any in-game item that would temporarily change a PC's alignment, though it might be possible (the same way it's possible to temporarily change a PC's strength with a +1 Str item for example).
That would require an A APPLY_ALIGNMENT thing and, as far as I know, we don't have it currently (you can check in the FKBIT.LST file that lists all the "flags" we have).

Cool beans-- this is still my first area, so do I need to get another (OLC) builder to log on and check that for me, or will the account made for the re-write of Waterdeep's streets on 4400 work for that?
