Mobs not reacting to some keywords (including riddle quests)

Post by Dalvyn » Wed Jun 27, 2007 7:32 pm

There's currently a bug related to the programmes that are supposed to make mobs react to some keywords.

More precisely, when a mob is supposed to react to several keywords, only the first keyword that is listed will work.

In many cases, this will not be a serious problem. When mobs are expecting a "yes" answer for example, "yes" is often listed as the first keyword. Alternative answers like "aye" or "certes" might not work anymore though.

This can cause more of a problem with broader questions (e.g., quests to learn about faiths), since you would have to use the first keyword listed to make the quest work; and the first keyword might not be the most intuitive one.

Finally, this can have worse consequences (including a quest failure) for the quests where giving a wrong answer has consequences. This is for example the case for riddle quests. I would advise you to refrain from doing such quests for the moment.

Is this still the case, or has the issue been solved?

There is still a bug related to keywords, but it's not as important as "only the first keyword will work".

I think that Japcil reported it to Bugzilla.

*nod* Only root words work. Like priest works but priestess doesn't etc.

Just a note to everyone: as a fixed bug, this entire message will soon be moved to the "Dead Bug Reports" forum. Is that forum visible to everyone?

I cannot see that forum. But perhaps the dead bugs need their privacy.
The truth cant hurt you its just like the dark
It scares you witless
But in time you see things clear and stark

Yep, I guess that isn't a public forum. So, just a word of explanation to everyone who's taken the time to post a bug report: if your bug report disappears, hopefully that means that it has been fixed! I'll try to report the fix before moving your bug report to a spot where it may no longer be visible to you.

Please remember, area code bugs via email only, as per
http://www.gallwey.com/fk/board/viewtopic.php?t=6292

Thanks again to everyone who reports bugs!
