Asking for IC info is pretty a pretty touchy subject here. We all do our best to try and avoid it, but sometimes we want/need to know if something's actually already been implemented into the game so we know whether or not to waste our time looking for said thing.
At first, I thought maybe question channel would be best, but generally IC info is frowned upon when using question channel.
Then, I thought sending an email to builders/coders might be the answer, but even that may be unnecessarily bothering the wrong person.
For such questions that may contain IC information, what is the process for finding out that information?
Is <this> in the game?

As far as the ask channel, in my opinion, you can ask questions if things are implemented. Of course the answer will be Yes cloth making is in game, but you will need to find out more information ICly. Code Council Journeyman hear ask/answer for this reason in a sense. Should a question of code implementation happen to be asked they are there to provide knowledge as well as be available when the question of something being a bug that requires testing on the other port.
To recap, I see no problem with using the ask channel using the "Is (this) in game yet?" format.

Such questions used to be automatically answered with "This is IC!", while there was actually nothing IC at all about knowing whether something that would ICly exist does exist in the game.
Those questions, answerable by "no/not yet/yes/yes but you need to be race X or class Y to get access to it", are perfectly fine.
