Ok, that must be because the corpse was too heavy.

I'll pump up the cleric's strength.

It looks like a corpse in the Conservatory deteriorated away and everything spilled out. It doesn't look like there's any way for the player to retrieve those things should they be so inclined.

here is a question for you... how does the newly raised pc hold all of his gear and possessions at once? In the olden days, when you were getting all your gear from your corpse I always ran into the problem of not being able to hold enough. So I had to get multiple loads, put on one load and then get another load.
I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

Because "raise dead" automatically moves all belongings to the character's inventory (not taking the Dexterity limit into consideration).

I have the feeling than the most newest players have no idea about the existence of the corpse conservatory.

Maybe it should be done something to introducing players to it, like being sent there by express deliveries in a quest in order to be accepted to work there.

Aren't veterans giving new people a tour of Waterdeep anymore nowadays? :)

I know that I tend to drag corpses in there when I find them. A lot of times, however, I do not raise them because the person to whom the body belongs is no longer online.
Madness does not always howl. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "Hey, is there room in your head for one more?"
