Brew/Scribe suggestions

Post by Nedylene » Sun Dec 02, 2007 8:44 pm

With all of the talk about making specialty guilds better and bringing the teach up in par I have been fiddling around with some ideas on brew/scribe as well.

Currently the list of brewable and scribable spells is limited and many you cannot brew or cannot scribe. While this is understandable to balance the game perhaps we should instead make every spell brewable/scribable under certain conditions. For example:

Brew level inept - able to brew all first level spells which you know above above Journeyman.
Brew level Amateur - Able to brew all first level spells and all second level spells above Journeyman
Brew level Novice - Able to brew all first and second level spells and third level spells above journeyman.
Brew level Apprentice - Able to brew all first, second and third level spells as well as fourth level spells above journeyman.
Brew level Journeyman - Able to brew all first, second, third and fourth level spells. (for priests) able to brew all fifth level spells above Adept. For Wizards can brew all fifth level spells above Adept and all specialty class spells above Novice

Etc ... make each level open up new spells and each level check what level you know the spell at before you can brew it. Similar to scribe however I also think scribe should limit the level 4 plus spells of specialty schools only to be scribed by the specialty classes. This may be difficult to code but thoughts?

The limit to 3rd level spells comes directly from d20 rules.

If you want higher level spells... take a wizard/priest along with you.
