Class Balance Importance on FK:

Post by Selveem » Thu Feb 07, 2008 8:09 pm

<Please move this to the Classes/General section, as I was unable to create a poll to either>

This has been a hot topic for a very long time. I'm curious how an anonymous (at least, as far as I know!) poll will return results.

Please note, this is not for actually discussing, arguing, or debating the issue.

Oh, and I should mention I meant the end trees:

Not unfaithed priests, unguilded rogues, warriors, or wizards.

Those, by default, are intentionally weakened until they join a guild (or faith, for priests) to enable all their skills/spells.

For those of us who haven't read the other topic.

Is this poll asking if each class should try to have the same power level as other classes?

I was going to ask, what do you mean by "class balance"? Do you mean balance in the PvP sense? Or how useful it is to have someone of class X in a group? Or how easy it is for a character of class X to kill a dragon? (or some combination of the above)

I'd really prefer not to get specific. Take it as you see it. It really should, ideally, be a combination of the harmony of a party, the PVP aspect, and equipment power balance.

Will there be a thread made to discuss thoughts about the subject and the results of the poll in the future?

If you'd like, you can create a thread on the subject. I will participate, as well. As for the poll results, I thought they could currently be viewed by all. If not, I can make a post in a week or so.

They can be viewed by all who have voted. Until you vote, you can't see the results. Yes, they are anonymous.

I am surprised at how balanced this is. This is a good thing, its not like we have one group saying 'No, very imbalanced!' and another saying 'Oh yeah, everything is right in the world' it will take a nice debate to sway the views of the people. But since we arn't that spread out we shouldn't have to start slinging the mud yet.
I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.

It looks like most people think that class balance is fairly important.
When I voted, I was honestly expecting the opposite results. I've had many people tell me over the years that class balance aint no thang... Surprising.
