[SPELL] Telepathic Bond

Post by Kregor » Mon Feb 11, 2008 2:30 pm

Telepathic Bond
Divination Clr 4, Wiz 5
Range: Close
Duration: 10min. / level

You forge a telepathic bond among yourself and a number of willing creatures, each of which must have an Intelligence score of 3 or higher. Each creature included in the link is linked to all the others. Once the bond is formed, it works over any distance.

Use of this spell would allow a group affected by the spell to send tells to each other without the need for an amulet of communication. Since there is no amulet as a go-between, and the communication is entirely telepathic, there is no indication that any communication is going on at all.

Let us hope that people do not forget they are in Telepathic Bonds with others when they and their mate go to fade to black... could be a might embarassing...

But I like the idea... kinda like the way group tells were way way back...

If you were affected by the spell and wearing the amulet, which would take precedence? (e.g. you tell someone inside the 'group' - will it be able to bypass your worn amulet? - if you have the spell on but tell someone outside the 'group' - will it know to check for a worn amulet?)

Excellent idea - perfect for those bands of thugs (or goodies) who need to apprise each other of situations.

Edited for spelling/grammar.

A spell like this would be hard coded. The amulet intercepts "tell" using an object program. It would probably be possible to if-check it out when someone is affected with the spell, though one could just not put on their amulet. The main beauty of the spell being an IC, D&D legal way to use the tell command.
