Inquirers

Post by Larethiel » Fri Apr 04, 2008 1:25 pm

Do inquires of a certain faith disappear from the faith list of the faith they first inquired about when they inquire of another faith?

Thanks

I've been trying to puzzle this out for some time! In some cases yes, in some cases no, in my experience. Perhaps they do not disappear if they apply without first inquiring into another faith, that's the best hypothesis I have going. I have just gotten to the point that I can start testing this on the testport, so I'll move it up on my priority list.

No need to rush :) I just wondered because an inquirer just went poof on a faith list without being inactive or something.

Yes - if a PC is an enquirer of Tyr, then uses the command 'faith enquire mystra', they will disappear from the Tyran faith list and appear on the Mystran faith list.

That's weird, because on Ilmater's faith list an enquirer is listed that is now a part of another faith, Selune's, to be exact. Unless that PC simply skipped the step of inquiring with that faith, and just declared them self as hopeful?

Right - there is some mechanism by which a PC can remain listed on a faith list after joining another faith. I had a guess as to what causes it, but my hypothesis didn't hold up under scrutiny on the test port...so I'm still looking for clues! I thought the same thing you did, Jaenoic, but on the testport, attempting to do that gives me "You may only to apply to join a faith in the presence of one of their faithful." You have to enquire into a faith before you can apply to it - that may be a recent change, though.
