[Domain] Destruction Domain
[Domain] Destruction Domain
I wonder if the third level spell for destruction Domain is still "To be added"?
Level One - Chill Touch
Level Two - Sound Burst
Level Three - (to be added)
Level Four - Enervation
Level Five - Mass Cause Light
Level Six - Harm
Level Seven - Earthquake
Level Eight - Disintegrate
Level Nine - Wail of the Banshee
If it is, I suggest adding Disease here. After all the only deity to get this domain (according to helpfiles) is Talona, the goddes of disease.

In 3.5 D&D, the 3rd level spell for the destruction domain is Contagion.
Is the help file right? Has this spell not been added to the list yet?
Disease would certainly be a perfect fit.SRD wrote:Contagion: Infects subject with chosen disease.

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
The problem is that as far I know diseases aren't fully implemented, PERHAPS, we could have a generic affect DISEASE.
Consumption is the sole end and purpose of all production; and the interest of the producer ought to be attended to, only so far as it may be necessary for promoting that of the consumer.

What he said. Right now there is also no trainer for disease in game and believe it was purpose removed from domain lists until it has become fully coded.Turyld wrote:The problem is that as far I know diseases aren't fully implemented, PERHAPS, we could have a generic affect DISEASE.

Yeah, it would be terrible if one spell were in more than one domain... Wait a second...

There are many ways of drawing attention to or correcting a post by another. Clever sarcasm isn't generally the most effective (Well, unless it's me of course )
Just to clarify, on Forgotten Kingdoms, the Disease spell is present in the Suffering domain only.

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
The suffering domain helpfile (at least the online version) says:
No disease mentioned there - is this wrong then?Level One - Weaken
Level Two - Wave of Grief
Level Three - Famish
Level Four - Enervation
Level Five - Feeblemind
Level Six - Harm
Level Seven - Flensing
Level Eight - Waves of Exhaustion
Level Nine - Horrid Wilting

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
Those nine spells are the Domain spells rather than a list of all of the spells in the domain - that is, they are the spells which clerics receive if their deitiy has the domain in their portfolio.

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
For clarification are you stating that disease (Which is really just a FKized form of Contagion) is a spell in the Suffering domain, but it is not one of the 9 spells hard-coded to be the only spell you recieve from following a deity with that domain?Kelemvor wrote:Those nine spells are the Domain spells rather than a list of all of the spells in the domain - that is, they are the spells which clerics receive if their deitiy has the domain in their portfolio.
D20.org lists contagion as a level 3 spell in the Destruction Domain which would make Disease the perfect filler for that missing level 3 domain spell.

What is the use of it being in a domain on FK if it is not on the list of 9 spells granted by that domain?

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
Opened up a right can of contagion here I see...
During the spell revamp and introduction of domain spells decisions were taken to produce balanced cleric domain spells across all faiths.
A product of this is that we did not slavishly follow canon sources.
Each faith has 9 Domain spells and some spells present in the domains were not selected to be a Domain spell.
And thats just about exhausted my knowledge of the matter

Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
So clerics of different faiths get the opportunity to know /all/ spells of their god's domain, even if it isn't in the 9 spell list that are specifically accounted for domain spell slots? Because that is the implication if Disease is considered in the suffering domain though not in the 9 list, but those clerics who serve gods with suffering as a portfolio still get it...
I don't get why we don't just add disease in there until a suitable replacement. It's not like the spell is game breaking.
40% is better than 0%, etc etc etc

Listen up! People pay good money to see this movie! When they go out to a theater they want cold sodas, hot popcorn, and no monsters in the projection booth! Do I have to come up there myself? Do you think the Gremsters can stand up to the Hulkster?
Re: [Domain] Destruction Domain
The spell actually does not work currently.
May you find the knowledge you seek. If you find something else, it is still knowledge, and as such, still a gain.
