(not sure if he is famous enough but here goes

)
Briek Blackthorn was born in Tethyr at the time of the great Interregnum
Which spilt the country apart. Orginally of the Millstone clan his parents
were Kortal and Alisande Millstone, Baron and Baroness of Clovis Fields.
It was an arrangment between the pairs clans, Blackthorn and Millstone
which brought them together into a sadly unhappy marriage. Obviously not
sharing any love for one another they only took to bed long enough to bear
an heir, Briek. It was this time after long planning between the infamous
General Sharboneth and Prince Alemander brought about what is now known as
The Black Days of Eleint, killing all but one of the Royal Family and plunging
Tethyr into chaos. Kortal, long bitter for for his minor status in the nobility
craved more power and so forged an alliance with the other nobles in the coup.
the clan of Blackthorn who were loyalists to the royals now fought to keep
order, the current duke of Cape Velen Lord Llachior Blackthorn saw his sister
Alisande's plight and attempted a rescue shortly after the coup, but it failed.
Kortal was increasingly paranoid that Llachior would help Alisande and Briek
to escape, revealing many of his crimes to the powerful duke. Thus begin a life
of confinement and inprisonment for Alisande and Briek, Briek himself was kept
from his mother and constantly made to endure his fathers wicked practices of
slave trading to raise money for his estate.
When Briek's ninth winter had come about, things were changing for the better
the Company of Eight had made good ground to restoring order and finally
Llachior had found Alisande and Briek once again, and was attempting another
rescue. Plans do not always go as envisioned however, Briek managed to escape
but Alisande was killed in the attempt, giving her life so that Briek might
live. This began a new phase in Briek's life, now in the relatively safe
surroundings of Tordraken, the Ducal seat in Cape Velen and under the
protection of his uncle the duke. Llachior took Briek as if he were his own
son, while he and Lawantha (Llachior's wife and duchess) were away often
Briek recieved the best of care. In these years he earnestly began study
under many tutors in all the things expected of a young Tethyrian nobleman.
Five years past, the Interregnum coming to a close in the Reclaimation
Llachior told Briek upon his fourteenth birthday (his coming of age) that
Kortal had been captured and placed under arrest, Llachior thought it best
for Briek that he leave Tethyr for the north, until years had past and things
had stablised again. Briek could not wear the name of Millstone in Tethyr
without great prejudice, and his father's lands had been absorbed by the Crown.
Llachior explained to Briek that he could not adopt Briek into the clan of
Blackthorn, for although they were family, Queen Zaranda had many years of
consolidation ahead of her and such minor decisions would not be made, he
also wished for Briek to gain real world experience, free of the trappings
of noble life. Briek set out for Waterdeep.
He arrived at Waterdeep in which is uncle had arranged for trainers at the
Font of Knowledge to take him own, nervous and quite frightened he made his way
there. It was on this very first day that Briek would meet the woman who would
change his life forever, one Lady Raona Corbin. Raona showed young Briek around
the city, almost immediately taking him under her wing, it was then that Briek
learned of the Just God, eager to learn more he constantly pressed Raona for
knowledge and she gladly taught him, his past drew him so stongly to what Tyr
represented. So it came to pass that Briek joined the faith of the Maimed One,
he then expressed his desire to serve as a paladin and Raona took him on.
Spending many years in training he rose in the ranks of the church, pressing
on with his formal squiring. Before his training came to an end he had mentored
under many knights, Lady Jaenoic Jerald, Lady Raona Corbin and last but not
least, Sir Harroghty Rallyhorn. Finally, close to reaching his thirties he
himself took upon the role of knighthood, as a paladin of Tyr.
in between his training, news came from home that his uncle had formally
adopted him into the ducal clan of Blackthorn, enabling him also to return to
Tordraken. Now well settled into his knightly duties he spends much time away
from Waterdeep as an errant for his Lord and visiting his homeland. He is a
well respected and senior member of the Maimed Gods faith. He also serves
on Waterdeep's City Watch as a Corporal, which he has done for quite some
years although his knightly duties now take up much more of his time. He also
helps Lady Raona in the training of pages and squires.
