Class Changing Policy

Post by Nysan » Tue Dec 01, 2009 6:22 am

It bugs me when I get into a discussion and it sparks a question I think I should know the answer to but I don't. So, here I am... cause I have to know.

Do we have a how-to set up to characters that wish to change classes? Such as application format, necessary RP involved prior, during, and after change, reasons for doing it, ect?

I know we've done it in the past, rarely. So the discussion had me pouring over helpfiles and forum threads looking for the answer. I couldn't find anything. It has me scratching my head. I have that same feeling I get when someone mentions a movie and I can't name that person that starred in it. Help me!!!

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.

I think 'rarely' is the key word here. It's not an advertised service, such as hometown changes for instance, because it's not something that should be toted as an option except in extreme circumstances!

In all cases the only way to process a request like this is to approach the applications team with a good chunk of text - not only background, but strong justification too - to support it. I'm not sure you can really put a template to something like this though, given the sheer number of circumstances that might lead to this sort of request - better to let it be judged on its own merit.

In my experience there are two methods. One is a character reset and the other is a guild change. The reset is the deletion of your character and the restarting of the character in a different class. The other is the removal of a character from a guild and its insertion into another guild. This is not changing the class though, and for the most part comes as a result of a case for case basis of decision.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)
