To all faith managers:
Welcome to 2010, we've decided to start the New Year we should clean up some little things here on FK! The first thing being looked into is faith manager activity, or lack thereof in most cases.
Please understand, we appreciate that players have real lives and those can and should take precedence over their game time. We appreciate the work and effort that each faith manager has put into the game and their faith during times of activity. Faith managing is the real deal - it's work. It's not a pretty status to flaunt and people don't always treat our faith managers with the respect they deserve for the work they do.
However, it is time to take care of positions which are held by players who no longer play at all, or who no longer play that character. What is considered active, you ask? After a considerable amount of discussion it's been decided that to be considered an 'active' faith manager, the character should be played for at least five hours a week. This may seem like a bit much to ask from a character and player. However, being a faith manager needs to be more than logging in to quest, and slipping out. Faith managers need to be available for their faithful for questions about the faith, actions in it, events faithful may want to hold, information about orders and more.
So, we've put a plan in place. If you are a faith manager, please PM the group 'Faith Management' with your character name and a decision on what you want to do with the position. If you wish to step down, please suggest a replacement if one is obvious to you. If you wish to keep the position, please indicate that you do, and explain what kind of time commitments you can give to the role going forward.
We'd like Faith Managers to take on and maintain an active role in the fabric of the game - if activity levels flag, we will contact you again and ask what the situation is and possibly try and find a replacement who has more time available for the position.
If you choose to step down from the role, that's fine - thank you very much for all of the hard work in the past!
In two week's time, PMs will be sent to any faith managers who have not yet responded to this post to give them an additional chance to indicate what their intentions are. If they don't respond to that within a week, we'll remove them for their position and start searching for a suitable replacement.
Faith managers who have gone inactive, or choose to step down now are not forever barred from that position, or any other faith managing position. If in time a faith manager becomes an active character again, they have the same opportunity as any other to earn the position again.
Thank you for the time and dedication all of our faith managers have given the MUD. Without them faiths would not flourish as so many have. We are truly respectful and appreciative of that.
