Faith levels hidden?
Faith levels hidden?
Simple question inspired by a recent conversation.
Can faith members hide themselves on the faith list?
I have characters in several faiths and this is the first time I heard of this. I thought the only way characters become hidden on 'faith list' was if they did not log in for a long period of time... or get kicked out.
I recently spoke to a member of one of my faiths that was online, yet still not showing on the 'faith list'. They thought it was commonplace for them to be hidden (note, this is not a secretive faith). Is there a command to remove yourself (or a FM to remove you) from the faith list? Am I misinformed and misguided (again)? Or are they somehow bugged? Help!

Re: Faith levels hidden?
Well, in all my experiences I have tried to remove someone from the faith list that was a..problem to say the least. But I could not do it mysel as the FM, I was required to send in an app and have the admin team deal with the situation. If said player has gotten into trouble, and the FM sent in an app to have the character removed from the church that my be the issues. Now, lately faith lists as a whole have been bugged. I have a few characters that are inaccurately placed on the faith list, or not placed on it period. The player may need to wait for the bug to be fixed before it is shown properly. As for a command to hide yoruself on the faith list? I have never heard of said command. However, I have never attempted to do such a thing.

Re: Faith levels hidden?
This might not be the case, but as an intiate in the faith (I'm not sure what rank your character holds) you cannot see the names of those of your faith in the Inner Circle, nor special Orders of the faith. I think you have to be above acolyte to see the inner circle, but I might be wrong on that. So it is possible the other character was promoted a long time ago to inner circle, or is in a special order of the faith so their name does not appear on the list. Unless of course you are high ranked in that faith... in which case you should be able to see the inner roster.
Another thing to consider is that sometimes people pretend to be of a faith they are not of, especially crooked evil doers. Just a thought, but I'm guessing you saw the symbol worn.

Re: Faith levels hidden?
Case in question is a straight forward case. Definately in the faith, hasnt been kicked or demoted, no special organization, but they are inner circle... maybe thats the reason. Still a little fuzzy on what lower ranks can see and cant see. Didn't realize my acolyte was restricted on what ranks he could see. I was under the impression only initiates and below were rank-blinded. Guess its just prelates and higher that are unrestricted, good to know for the future.
Thanks for the quick answers. The conversation had me thinking there was some faith list invis command I missed. Now I know, thanks!

Re: Faith levels hidden?
To be honest I have found that somewhat inconsistant. I have had a prelate that could not see inner circle. But, I have to say that was years ago when he was a prelate, maybe it is diffrent now. But I never knew who was inner circle until said character was promoted to inner circle. Is that the same today? I know my acolytes cannot see prelate or inner circle, that seems to be universal, but can a prelate see who is inner circle?

Re: Faith levels hidden?
Initiates cannot see ranks PRELATE and INNER CIRCLE.
Special orders have no affects over faith ranks.

Acolytes under same restrictions? Or they cannot see inner circle but can see prelates? Still lost on that one.Mele wrote:Initiates cannot see ranks PRELATE and INNER CIRCLE.

Re: Faith levels hidden?
Found this in the Help Files:
This is the main command to deal with faith levels. Faith Managers can use
'advance' and 'demote' in addition to 'bless' and 'damn' to manage their
faith. All members of a faith from acolyte up can use 'faith list' to see a
list of all members of their faith at their faith level and those below. All
members of a faith are encouraged to seek out inquirers and help them
understand the key tenets and general nature of the faith.

Re: Faith levels hidden?
Ahh. For some reason it didn't seem right. I could have sworn I have seen inner circles from lower ranks, in the past (prelate for sure, maybe acolyte). Wouldn't be the first time I am working off of out of date personal experience though. I sleep through code changes alot.
