Yeah, I'm divided on the replay aspect.

I'm not saying I agree with the 'acting' aspect of soccer (intentional spills or quick jerks on near-contact challenges to steal the sway of the game) but they've always been a part of it since I've known the game. If it was replay-accurate, as stupid as I feel to admit it, I think it would take something away from the game.

For instance, I saw in the Spain-Chile game where Marco Estrada was sent packing on a second yellow card from contact that video replay "didn't seem to catch" (though, in my opinion, he should have received it before then). It didn't make me feel good to know that Spain's player likely took advantage of the proximity, but I had to respect the skill in acting if contact definitely didn't occur (which, again, I think it didn't).

Either way, I didn't get to see the England-Germany game today and will look forward to watching it on the DVR.

To all the remaining teams and their fans, good luck. For those who teams didn't make it, I'm still thankful for such phenomenal games!

Well If going to replay could become that big of a problem, why not have rules much like American Football has when it comes to challenging a play? I realize they cannot loose time outs for a lost challenge, but give them a set number of challenges or something. They have three challenges that can be used at anytime, but they are not going to use it for something as small as a dive that helps to shift momentum.
I have been having this same exact argument about baseball since a few weeks ago when Armando Galarraga was cheated out of his perfect game. Some sports try to be to "Traditional" for their own good. We have technology that will prevent these officials from looking like complete idiots...would would FIFA not want to do all they could to ensure an honest and fair game?

I find American Football a bore. All the stoppage in plays and commercials make that crap stagnant.

That being said, congrats Germany on your profane victory against Argentina. I knew it'd happen, but I never expected a such a humiliating shut-out!

I was gutted to see the big cheating lump get hammered, honest i was.
Theoretically speaking we lost to Germany 4-1, 4-2 but for the short sighted ref. That means England are therefore better than Argentina as they lost 4-0.

Come on Holland tonight, then, cant believe i am saying this i actually want Germany to beat the Spaniards.

Final....Who cares....

Does that mean Serbia and Ghana are better than both England and Argentina? :P

I hate that octopus almost as much as I didn't want Spain to win.

Now Spain has to win. They can't beat Germany and then.. fail. They simply can't.
