Trip Skill

There's Improved Trip feat in game... but does the Thieves Class actually get the trip skill? I saw it as trainable and know some MOBs have it, but didn't see it on the Skill List under Guild section.

What exactly does trip do? Stun your opponents a little when starting off a battle somewhat like backstab?
