Hello everyone. I'm new to this MUD. I've played other MUDs in the past and this one seems to be on par with the kind of games I like. I hope it turns out to be a great experience and not another let down. I'm anxious to meet all of you and learn all the cool things this game has to offer.
Any tips/must trys/have-to-dos?
The new guy
Re: The new guy
If this game has anything going for it, it is the fact that new players are welcomed very openly. I recommend that you take your new character to the market square in Waterdeep and introduce it to some other player characters. They will, I'm sure, have their own highlights to show you. Welcome aboard!

Re: The new guy
Welcome! I hope you find Forgotten Kingdoms to be "that game I've been searching for!", as I have.
My advice is simple: Try to think and act as your PC would...limit your fixation on your score sheet and the game mechanics. These are well done on FK, but you will never master them all in time to optimize your first PC...and they aren't what's going to hook you anyway. Don't wait to venture out of the training area and start talking with people until you are level X...the sooner the better! That said, to keep your PC alive you need to ask for advice and understand that exploration can be deadly. The streets of Waterdeep are safe - stick to them until someone ICly counsels you otherwise.
Enjoy!

Re: The new guy
Like they all said, Welcome to FK
I hope you enjoy your stay and never leave and will make everything possible for that to happen. If you ever need help while in game, do not hesitate to use the ask command, FK's little helpers are more than happy to answer people and they usually fight to be the fastest to answer
See ya,
Brar
PS: And do not listen to Isaldur and Selveem, they are always wrong and I am right, but it's a secret.

Best thing I can say is meet all the characters, and remember that everything is really IC. Players are really cool here, but it is actually like your own story you are creating and everyone else is a supporting role. Thats Right Kailana, You are not the star! *ahem* As I was saying, welcome and have fun!

Advise for new players, from the edge of insanity...
Nothing about the game, others say that stuff better.
My advise is: Do not fear the forums. Got an idea? Got a suggestion? Want to add something to a thread? Got a question? Post it. There are no bad posts here. There are no bad ideas. You'll get feedback, but it will be constructive. We don't flame here (and don't tolerate flaming), so never fear a response. Do not fear using the forums. If I cant rant and ramble for ten years and be no worse for ware, so can you!

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.
