Wedding Policy

Post by Anguin » Thu Jan 27, 2011 8:07 pm

What is the current policy on marriage/weddings in the game?

I just ran across a helpfile that says a wedding must be approved by application first, and another that says there must be a 'handfast' period first.

I conducted a wedding ceremony (apparently of dubious legality) recently, and would like to know exactly how much trouble Everett is in (this time).

I would suggest reading the "Games Policies and HOW-TOs" Forum and more specifically this one viewtopic.php?f=16&t=8298.

Have fun :)

Required applications for Weddings were removed a few years ago. All wedding areas are wide open and can be used by anyone. I think the only thing you have to apply for is wedding ring renames if you wanted them. The help file in the game probably just has to be updated to match the posts in the forum.

That's what the HOWTO section Brar linked says. Except it doesn't bother to mention you used to have to apply since it's not relevant. ;)

Thanks. I feel slightly less guilty now.

I worked from memory without studying the link. My apologies for any misconceptions I may have caused. I am however happy to admit that the current system is much better than the older one and love to bring that up whenever possible. I am grateful to those that made it so.
