Heya! At the request of the creator of the armour resizing thread I've split this off from that one to discuss the merits of resizing weapons.
I think it'd be really great, especially since using a weapon that's improperly sized for a PC creates a fairly reasonably hefty accuracy penalty (equivelant to losing 4 points of strength for hit, though not damage). This would benefit any PC who's had the misfortune of finding only improperly-sized (for them) weapons and I can't see any downsides to it, really, except that it might discourage swapping weapons, however I haven't encountered that much; most people seem to prefer to sell their excess to NPCs rather than wait around for the perfect PC that just happens to be looking for what they're selling.

Re: Magical Weapon Resizing
As he said....
Just for the note, it's actually a -4 to hit, which is equivalent to a -8 to STR on hit (as 2 STR give 1 +Hit :p)
So it's even worse as he said in fact

Re: Magical Weapon Resizing
I just double-checked but, yep, it's still -2 (at the minimum, at least) for an improperly sized weapon, or in the immortal words of the D20 website, "a cumulative -2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between the size of its intended wielder and the size of its actual wielder".
I assume you're adding in the -2 to-hit that applies for dual-wielding (both main and off-hand) even with the two-weapon fighting feat?
PS: Hey, if it's a penalty of -2 does that mean we should actually be getting a +2 bonus to-hit for improperly sized weapons?

Brar's thinking of improvised weapons, that's all. Those get a -4 to-hit penalty. Like breaking a table and using the leg as a club.
