There's a helpfile for counterspell, but as near as I can figure, it isn't actually functional in-game. (All my wizard gets is a blank "Huh?" when he tries the syntax given in the helpfile.)
I have a couple thoughts about it.
First, without using aliases, only a speed demon or a trigger is going to be able to spit out "counterspell bandit 'magic missile'" between the time "you guess a bandit is casting magic missile" and the time the magic missile actually hits you. (Aliases might help, I suppose, if you knew what to expect.)
Second, is there a way we could connect it to the auto command [under discussion in another thread]? So that it automatically tries to counterspell your opponent's spells, if you have the correct one prepared (and know via spellcraft what is being cast)?

Re: Counterspell
I believe 'auto counterspell' is already a feature of the auto command? I'm just not certain if it's functional.
