Cure Disease

I tried casting Cure Disease on someone and got the message below. It turned out that it wasn't a disease it was a poison. Is that why the prayer failed? Because there was no disease to cure?

You will get the "You failed" echo if you cast this spell at a target that is not diseased, so I believe the answer here is probably "yes!"
