Time of Troubles
Time of Troubles
I am over halfway finished with Waterdeep from the Avatar Trilogy and noticed something important. In the trilogy, it talks of Ao casting the Gods from the planes and making them find avatars. But all the Gods mentioned are those of the Human Pantheon... what about all the Demi-human Gods? Did the other races suffer from no prayers or weave disruption? In all the books I have, I haven't seen anything covering this, not even in the Forgotten Realms Campaign set, and I keep wondering how the other races coped with the Times of Troubles...
What the Mind of a man can conceive, the Will of a man can achieve.
EVERY god was cast to the prime material plane. Though not all have been said as to where they went. The only god I can recall at the moment is Gond. He washed up upon the shores of Lantan and in thanks for their care he taught them smokepowder(*gasp*Gnomes with smokepowder?!? Noooooooo!). Thats also the main reason that gond is a gnomish deity as well as a human one currently I beleive.
Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.
Gwain seems to display a look of complete horror for a second...

I got a great site for you! It oulines the wereabouts of certain gods during the Time of Troubles and gives leverage to the mystery of some that were not present.

In the ToT, all gods were tossed out on their devine rumps (save for the big guy ordered to keep the others out). Unfortunately, the trilogy mention could only account for certain deities related to the story. Personally, I think books on what, where, ect about the other deities during this time would be a nice read. but I have yet to hear about any been written.

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.

The old Forgotten Realms comic book series had a great episode where the avatars of Clangeddin Silverbeard and Labelas Enoreth go head to head over something (can't remember what the something was, been awhile), during the time of troubles. Labelas won, which I thought was lame.

Check ebay, or your local comic book store, they'll know.Algon wrote:I am clueless when it comes to this. But I wanted to know if anyone knew where to get the comic books that Krinus spoke of?
There were two series, one was FR, the other was just called Advanced Dungeons&Dragons, and both were awesome. The characters from the two would sometimes mix in each others series, but it was done well.
Sweet storylines, and Selune has an avatar of hers as one of the main characters in the FR series, as the owner of a tavern, called Sylunes Smile I think.
My bro owned every one, and there was quite a few of them, back in the early 90's, but lost them all to a storage facility that sold all his stuff due to him not paying the rental fee.
Here's a link to check out the FR comics, some of em anyhow;

Well then my friend, you had better get a copy of all these as well, as I think this series was the better of the two, and yes, it takes place in the Realms.Algon wrote:Thanks a bunch. Just got a copy of all that were on that list.
