I was wondering if it would be possible to allow these stones to be able to be used as gems for lapidary. Considering that there are rings and such as RMIs that contain these stones already, I thought it would make sense to have them be able to be used in the trade.
When I tried with a moonstone earlier today, all I got was "You cannot make jewellery out of that"
Thanks!

Aren't all lapidary gems the same item number? You might need a vendor carrying lapidary specific versions of these stones.

I just checked on this and the answer is no, all of the gems I have on me all have different Vnums. So it must be some type of flag on the object itself that allows them to be used in a specific trade? I looked over the builder help files and did not see anything that talks about items flags for trade use. So I am not really sure.Casamir wrote:Aren't all lapidary gems the same item number? The original reason that these can't be set, was because they were spell components. When lapidary first entered the game, people were setting pieces of cheese and manure in jewelry and those in charge reclassified the trade to only recognize gemstones. I'd welcome the chance to allow us to set other things in jewelery again, probably will have to be specific items and not a range of item types to avoid abuse.

I got excited for a second then that Lirith could have earrings made from tarts.
I think it would be very nice to be able to use the gemstone components in this trade.
