AFAIK any alignment/race can be a mage.

Invokers and Transmuters can technically have any alignment, but as of now no races that are only evil alignments can become those, since the current guilds cannot be accessed by evils (except for TN --> evil swaps).

Ah, nifty! However, do the available training locales restrict alignments, or can there be drow bards and the like?

I know there is a gnome bardic college in the works...but that doesn't mean gnomes can't use the available schools, right?
