Another interesting conversation sparks a question. Is it fair to use a "specialized" container for similar items?
Two examples:
Is it fair to use a quiver to store bullets for slings? (Secondary, are there any bullet pouches in game... anywhere?)
A scroll case that holds books?
We don't have any set in stone rules for any container besides spellpouches. Sounded like a good question to ask the masses.

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.

Re: Specialized containers
We have belt quivers in the game that work for sling weapons.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Re: Specialized containers
For my own personal views here, I think we should just keep this within the realm of what is reasonable for that container. If you were to look in my 'book bag' from my school days, you'd find much more that books, and sometimes things that were completely unrelated to books. Lunch! I think as long as we do not have pianos, and fire items in our packs and various bags it should be fine.
Who would tell you that you could not keep coin in your scroll case if you felt like having it there?
I'm guilty of just not thinking of it and stuffing things into whatever container I have. That happens to all of us. But if you are continually putting things that are not appropriate into a container not suited for them, be prepared to be called on it.

Re: Specialized containers
An interesting question from a random conversation. I mostly went the route of "no rules, but IC will have IC reactions" for an answer. The mindset that a book could fit in a scroll case, but pulling greatsword out of a scroll case might raise an eyebrow or two.
The quiver one hung me up though. We all basically know what a quiver looks like and I had a hard time picturing someone shoving an arm into it trying to pull out a bullet.

Re: Specialized containers
Quivers have been used to store many things, not just arrows but also arrowheads, tools, strings and up to as much as whole bows along side with the arrows, as an example here might be the scythian goryt. (http://home.mnet-online.de/sgian/Bilder ... tr_no8.jpg) With Scroll cases, I always thought those were like map cases, tubes you put a rolled up scroll into, which makes it a bit strange having a book in them I agree with Aveline, common sense should be applied there and items put into containers that are reasonable to carry around in them, something players can monitor themselves. If there is need for a "specialized" container, it can be renamed, if that is still being done.
Weit in der Champagne im Mittsommergrün,
dort, wo zwischen Grabkreuzen Mohnblumen blühn,
da flüstern die Gräser und wiegen sich leicht
im Wind, der sanft über das Gräberfeld streicht.
