Coded Drow Nobility

Post by Valens » Wed Dec 24, 2003 6:24 pm

As most fans of FR and dark elves will recognize, dark elven Houses never have more than two Noble Male sons. The thirdborn is ritually sacrificed immediately after birth.

This was to be Drizzt Do'Urden's fate until Dinin Do'Urden murdered Nalfein Do'Urden.

Anyhow, my question is this. When a Male drow character is granted nobility, should we be informed as to which son we are? Obviously, were the MUD to stick to established Drow rules, we could only have two noble sons per house, though there are many other positions in a house that males can hold. Weaponsmaster (which is typically held by a son, but CAN be held by someone else; reference Dinin taking the position when Zaknafein was murdered), Matron Attendant (read: slave husband), House Wizard (which is typically held by a son, but CAN be held by someone else), et cetera.
