New Deity Features for Waterdeep's Museum

Post by Harroghty » Wed Jun 15, 2011 5:11 am

There are some deities not yet represented at the museum in Waterdeep. I will list the names below and interested parties should post here to claim a deity for which to complete a statue. Racial and foreign (Chultan, Mulhorandi, Untheric, Kara-Turan, etc.) pantheons will be addressed in the future. Statue submissions should include the following:

A short description. e.g. {10}a marble statue of a woman in plate armor
A long description. e.g. {10}A statue of a woman in plate armor stands here.
An examine description. i.e. What you see when you examine the statue. This should be no more than eight lines of no more than 65 characters in width. It does not have to be justified, but it can be. You use colors here also, but please keep them basic and subtle (a major color with some highlighted terms perhaps).

Submissions should be sent via private message (PM). Please post here to claim a deity and I will update the list with the name of the first person to claim a deity (see below for an example, I have already claimed the Lady of Strategy). Again, these are first-come, first-served. I would like all submissions no later than 15 July 2011 (you have one month from the date of this post to complete your submission). If someone claims a deity and does not submit a product by 15 July 2011 then I will open that deity up again for someone else to pick unless you contact me directly (again, via PM) and let me know about some extenuating circumstances.

Deities that require a statue:
Finder Wyvernspur - Orplar X
Garagos - Khelebhzed X
Gargauth - Gwain X
Gwaeron Windstrom - Bellayana X
Hoar - Gwain X
Jergal - Gwain X
Karsus - Khelebhzed X
Lurue - Bellayana X
Nobanion - Khelebhzed X
Red Knight - Harroghty X
Savras - Lirith X
Sharess - Khelebhzed X
Shialla - Lirith X
Siamorphe - Yvonne X
Ulutiu - Khelebhzed X
Uthgar - Lysha X
Valkur - Yvonne X
Velsharoon - Gwain X

Some of these deities have entries in Faiths and Pantheons, but they all have entries in Powers & Pantheons (TSR 9563) and those entries are far more detailed than those in the first book anyway. There are images of most deities in one, the other, or both books. If not, you should be able to find them by using Google Images and searching for the deity's name.

Disclaimer: There are some deities listed here that player characters in Forgotten Kingdoms are not allowed to follow (e.g. Garagos and Sharess) because their ideologies are inconsistent with the game rules or standards of conduct that we require. Including them in this project does not change that ruling.

Hoar, Jergal, Velsharoon, Gargauth, and would it be possible to add Ubtao?

Chultan pantheon (and all other regional or racial pantheons) will wait for now.

I missed that in your original posting, my apologies.

I'd be happy to take on Ulutiu, Garagos, Nobanion, and Sharess.

Can I take Siamorphe La Noblesse Oblige and Valkur The Mighty?

No, the statues themselves should not include ASCII pictures; they should be only text. You should feel free to submit ASCII in addition that may be made into a painting.

Just a reminder that there are about two weeks until submissions for this are due. Please send them to me via PM. Thanks!

I have received five submissions so far. Great work from you two who have submitted yours so far.

Those who do not meet the deadline of 15 July (realistically, I will check my messages on 16 July to account for time-zone differences) and do not notify me of a late submission will not be included. Thanks!

Whoops, I completely forgot about this! I'll get on it this weekend since I have a quiet one planned.

I suppose I can do Karsus as well. <3 The child-who-would-be-a-god.

Real life calls and Brar told me he will not be able to complete these in time. Any new blood (a person not already writing on one of the minor deities in this list) interested in them?

I can do them.

If you still need help let me know. I'd be willing to give Finder a shot.

Okay. Gwaeron and Lurue go to Bellayana, but Finder goes to Orplar. Again, the same rules and deadlines apply. Thanks for the interest with this! I look forward to including you all's work into the game!
