The Appointment of Sir Briek as High Knight of Tyr

Post by Harroghty » Sat Mar 03, 2012 9:51 pm

Sir Briek Blackthorn now serves as High Knight of Tyr.
Holy Justice Bertold walks in from the north.
Briek nods to A tall red-haired male human 'Welcome to the Halls of Justice, Master Serdin.'.
Harroghty dips his chin to Holy Justice Bertold. 'Good e'en, Holy Justice.'.
Holy Justice Bertold sweeps grandly, yet purposefully through the majestic double doors and into the hall - standing at its head to survey the crowd with his steely gaze, his expression stern.
Kallias removes his helmet and faces Holy Justice Bertold.
Kallias stops using a gold and white helm.
Briek bows his head to Holy Justice Bertold 'Holy Justice Bertold.'.
Oestrial lowers himself in a bow to Holy Justice Bertold 'Holy Justice.' he murmurs before standing up and linking glowing hands behind his back once more.
Baltimus bows before Holy Justice Bertold.
Liric turns to face to Holy Justice Bertold, brushing a few stray locks of blonde hair out of his face. He folds his hands over his hips and looks on, quiet.
A tall red-haired male human bows before Holy Justice Bertold.
Dahlia bows gracefully before Holy Justice Bertold as he enters.
Holy Justice Bertold looks at each and every face in turn, remaining silent as he absorbs the scene.
Malagond remains silent and bows to Holy Justice Bertold, placing both hands together before him as he does.
Holy Justice Bertold takes an enormous war hammer in both hands, placing it ceremoniously on the ground before him - the lightest trace of pride gracing his care-worn features.
Holy Justice Bertold drops a gigantic war hammer.
Harroghty hangs his thumbs on the edge of his belt, his eyes slightly cast down from the gleaming icon.
With a crackle of purest energy, the hammer begins to levitate, hanging aloft in the halls above the Holy Justice Bertold's head.
Baltimus looks at Briek.
Dahlia looks up at the hammer, eyes widening within an otherwise solemn face.
Briek utters a quick prayer 'By Tyr, the light of Mjollnir!' he bows his head.
Holy Justice Bertold sets his jaw firmly, lifting his right arm out before him 'Sir Briek Blackthorn, Knight of Justice' he announces suddenly and clearly, his voice filling the hall with apparently little effort '- I bid you present yourself.'.
Briek steps forward, facing Holy Justice Bertold 'I stand on parade, Holy Justice.'.
Holy Justice Bertold scrutinises Briek intently for a time, his steely-grey eyes betraying nothing.
Holy Justice Bertold bows his head reverently after an extended moment - eventually lowering his arm again 'Sir Briek Blackthorn. You who uphold the holy tenets of The Even Handed, meting justice as His divine champion on Toril - you have served with honour, dignity and distinction.'.
Briek brings his feet roughly a foot apart, placing his hand around behind his back and staring slightly upwards, slient.
Holy Justice Bertold looks about the hall again, as if daring someone to contradict him 'Would any of you here claim otherwise?' he demands, lifting his chin somewhat 'I bid you speak it now, or forever hold your peace.'.
Oestrial looks on in silence, making not even the slightest movements to Holy Justice Bertold's words.
Malagond looks on, remaining silent and still.
Holy Justice Bertold allows the looming silence to hang for almost a minute before eventually bowing his head again 'Your brothers and your peers share this judgement' he announces, turning back to focus on Briek 'And so, Sir Briek Blackthorn - I extend to you a well deserved honour.'.
Briek lowers his gaze to Holy Justice Bertold 'I accept your judgement with humble heart, for t'would be the sin of pride to think myself capable moreso than you all good people in unison.' he bows his head again 'I serve, as Grimjaws sees fit Holy Justice.'.
Liric presses his lips together and keeps his gaze on Holy Justice Bertold and Briek, hands clasped at the small of his back.
Holy Justice Bertold's begins to approach with a slow, purposeful pace - claiming a small length of pristine white fabric from beneath his ceremonial robes of office - which he offers to Briek, 'Then kneel,' he insists, simply enough.
Holy Justice Bertold gives a strip of white cloth to Briek.
Harroghty lays his hands, one atop the other, over his sword's hilt and watches in silence.
Briek wraps the cloth around his eyes, taking a knee.
Briek straps a strip of white cloth around his head.
Holy Justice Bertold laces his hands together before him as he looks down at Briek 'Sir Briek Blackthorn. You have sworn fealty to Lord Tyr as a paladin of His service. Today I ask of you another oath.'.
Holy Justice Bertold lifts his head again, squaring his jaw before asking 'Will you accept the mantle of High Knight of Tyr - holiest of His crusaders?'.
Briek keeps his head bow and his neck exposed, replying 'If it is our divine liege lord's wish that I do so, then by his command I do.'.
Holy Justice Bertold bows his head reverently again, asking 'And do you yet swear everlasting fealty to The Even Handed, placing this loyalty above all else?'.
Briek says to Holy Justice Bertold 'I reaffirm that vow, which I took upon first entering His service.'
Holy Justice Bertold once again bows his head, pausing before producing a magnificent golden blade from the simple scabbard slung at his side - holding it aloft for all but Briek to see.
Holy Justice Bertold wields a golden warsword with hammer-shaped finials in his left hand.
Holy Justice Bertold draws in a long breath before announcing, 'Then, Sir Briek Blackthorn,' lowering the blade to touch Briek's left shoulder 'Before Lord Tyr and the people of Toril,' lifting it over Briek's head to the opposite shoulder, 'I proclaim you High Knight of Tyr. Maybe you bear the title proudly and with nothing but the highest honour.'.
Holy Justice Bertold lowers the blade carefully to his side again, bowing graciously at the waist to Briek 'I bid you rise once again, High Knight.'.
Briek remains unmoving as the blade touches his shoulders 'I swear to honour the title and it's responsibilities.' he comes to his feet.
Holy Justice Bertold lifts himself again to full height, turning the blade about and offering its handle directly to Briek 'I present to you a gift, then - and a badge of office. May it serve you as steadfastly as you serve Lord Tyr.'.
Briek wields a golden warsword with hammer-shaped finials in his right hand.
A golden warsword with hammer-shaped finials glows brightly in Briek's hand.
Baltimus smiles.
Liric curls his lips up into a thin smile, watching Briek and Holy Justice Bertold.
Liric looks at Briek.
Briek feels forward for the pommel, then grabs the hilt firmly and raises the sword. the soft glow even visible to him.
Holy Justice Bertold takes a slight - barely noticeable, he hopes - step back as the sword is brandished.
Malagond's eyes follow the raised blade upward, his lips curling to smile in the same direction.
A tall red-haired male human watches the scene with an expression of awe and curiosity.
Briek leans forward to press his lips lightly to the crossguard 'I shall treat it with due reverence, and ever wield it with respect.'.
Holy Justice Bertold turns aside, nodding his gratitude as a squire brings him an exquisite piece of armour, before turning back to Briek, his expression remaining stern 'You may remove your blindfold, High Knight' he suggests mildly 'I imagine you have a few words to share with your friends, your brothers and your peers. A speech, if you will.'.
Harroghty looks from Briek to Holy Justice Bertold a moment, his eyes lingering briefly on the sword.
Briek reaches up with his free hand, removing the blindfold 'Truth be told Holy Justice, I come much unprepared.' he carries on 'But I shall say a few words indeed.'.
Dahlia watches Briek quietly from her spot, with quiet, solemn interest.
Liric shifts the weight between his legs, barely moving, though his hands move to fold over the front of his girtle, looking on yet in silence.
Oestrial shifts his weight gently to his left, a soft smile playing his lips as he listens on quietly.
Briek clears his throat, then calls out 'Knights!' he continues 'Squires, friends.' he performs a bow to the group 'Firstly I bid you thanks, you have honoured me today with your presence and your steadfast belief, I am humbled.'.
Malagond looks down towards his midsection a moment, then back to Briek.
Briek holds up the sword in his hand 'Today has only shown stronger for me the importance of our cause, and should we fortify ourselves...what we may achieve.' he finishes 'I am proud I dare say it, proud to be among such a group as you. Let us not forget! he looks up to the glowing hammer ' That justice is all our purview, justice and the good folk of the realms!"
Briek takes a step back, bowing once more 'Thank you.'.
Harroghty smiles faintly and nods once in silent agreement.
Holy Justice Bertold bows his head reverently again, squaring his jaw once more, 'Well said indeed, High Knight' he announces softly - hefting the elaborately fashioned breastplate again in both hands 'One final gift to be lavished upon you, then - and I shall leave you to your duties.'.
Briek makes an about turn, facing Holy Justice Bertold once more.
Holy Justice Bertold places the breastplate on the ground before Briek 'Armour fitting of The High Knight. The armoury shall fashion more of it for you as and when you are ready for it.'.
Holy Justice Bertold drops a gilt harness inlaid with a silver hammer across the breast.
Briek reaches down and takes up the harness, giving it an experienced eye 'Truly a kingly gift, Holy Justice.'.
Briek gets a gilt harness inlaid with a silver hammer across the breast.
Harroghty clucks his tongue softly. 'Knightly, methinks.'.
Briek says to Harroghty 'A better wording, Sir Harroghty.'
Harroghty cracks a fresh smile, adding, 'A humble suggestion, High Knight.'.
Holy Justice Bertold favours Harroghty with something of a knowing glance, before turning back to nod simply at Briek 'And now - unless you have questions for me, I depart. Your duties are legion - and moreso now, I daresay.'.
Liric offers a warm smile himself, keeping his gaze forward upon Briek.
Briek smiles faintly in Harroghty's direction, then nods to Holy Justice Bertold 'Surely Holy Justice I shant deny that, I thank you.' he bows his head politely.
Briek smiles faintly in your direction, then nods to Holy Justice Bertold 'Surely Holy Justice I shant deny that, I thank you.' he bows his head politely.
Harroghty dips his head towards Holy Justice Bertold. 'Peace be upon you as you go, Holy Justice.'.
Kallias looks to the gathered, 'A huzzah for High Knight Briek, receiving the highest honor of those who serve gods and kings'.
Holy Justice Bertold returns the gesture, offering a second one to the room at large, 'A good day to you all then,' he announces, before turning to steep grandly once more from the hall.
Holy Justice Bertold opens the sturdy wooden door.
Holy Justice Bertold walks east.
Liric offers a bright, beaming, lyrical 'Huzzah!' as he clasps his hands together once, the sound echoing through the hall.
Briek has been blessed by his patron!
Oestrial closes his crystalline like eyes, dropping his head in a bow to Briek 'A heart felt congratulations upon you, High Knight.'.
Dahlia bows her head towards Briek 'Congratulations indeed, High Knight'.
Dahlia looks towards Oestrial as a very slight smile comes upon her lips, 'We are of too like minds this moment, almost eerie'.
Briek turns a light shade of puce 'Thank you all, I'm much appreciative to your kind words.'.
Oestrial turns his gaze over towards Dahlia with a soft smile 'It has not been the first time, my friend.'.
Malagond says to Briek 'Congratulations indeed Sir Briek, High Knight of Tyr.'
