Faith Manager?

Post by Lystianna » Tue Jul 16, 2013 8:04 pm

Hello,

I have a new character. I'm just wondering who she should be bothe- ahem, talking to in order to arrange an IC meeting with a rep from the Temple of Cyric... Would that be considered IC?

Thanks either way!

It is best to pursue those things ICly. I'm not faith manager however I am active in the faith and engage people about it rather often. If you pursue the IC route and keep your eyes open, I'm sure you'll come across one of His servants before long.
The truth is… you're the weak, and I am the tyranny of evil men. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

Usually you have to just set the PC as interested via 'faith enquire' and hope that a follower sees your PC on the faith list.

You can also use 'pray' to alert the deity, but I've never had much luck with prayer. I think the prayer boards are flooded or something.

Actually, I wouldn't suggest to pray at all. Put yourself on the faith list, and you will be seen, by either FM, or Imm.

Make sure though that you are level 10, or higher, and have a sufficient amount of hours. You want to show you are interested, and not just in a rush. Actively seeking out the FM looks good, too. :)

I didn't mention doing this, because sometimes it is ICly detrimental to the character if you go around yelling, "Hey, I want to be a cleric that upholds the values of lies and murder! Can you direct me to the nearest Cyricist?"

There are many ways to seek out FMs, good, or bad. If you want a join a faith, it's work!

Hi,

I am the faiths admin, and just chiming in here: I have faithed three Cyricists in the past two weeks. There's no lack of movement, you just need to put some time and effort into it. (And be level 10+)

Enjoy!

Hi - Unfortunately, I was the only high-ranking active Cyricist (formerly being a FM who had a very small, tight-knit flock of faithful to take care of. I am only recently coming back of a bit of a hiatus, but will echo what Mele said. I apologize for not having been active enough to pursue seeing faithing properly done for Cyric's church ; I hope you find success and remember: If you lose your sanity, the True God is only a bad hair day away.

Oh, I've only just started. But if you're inquiring into a faith, usually one of the first things that anyone (my personal take on this is to include NPCs and general hearsay) affiliated with said church could and should be able to point you at the High Priest(ess) etc.

Thanks! I wasn't tryin' to pick on anyone for being idle (I'd be one to talk).

I also didn't know I had to be 10+ to be faithed, or I wouldn't have said anything. Currently my Ebilness is only level... much less than ten.

Thanks again. :D

Keep in mind also, that not all churches are ran by a high priest, or priestess. You will see white titles on the who list to those that are cleric FM's, but sometimes a person of another class will be chosen to run a faith, and you will have to catch them by title, or another means.
