Re: Max Level - What do you do?
I usually focus more on character development and becoming more of a staple or pillar in the game environment. Gather wealth to start a business, help younger characters train up. Or well, do level 50 quests
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

I do Gwain things.

It might seem obvious but...Roleplaying seems like a valid option to me

Draw comics/other people's PCs. >_>

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
I wouldn't know, I never bother to hit level 50 <<;
What are you talking about? What, that guy?
That was like that when I got here.

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
My first character I level raced up thinking there'd be some massive power gain at the top (there wasn't). My second character I decided I'd just focus on skills but as all the skills are combat related, eventually you do get to the top level.Althasizor wrote:I wouldn't know, I never bother to hit level 50 <<;
The third character I decided to just hang out and have a good time once I got the utility/mobility spells I wanted but even doing that eventually gets you to the top.

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
All in all, I spent eight years bringing Gwain to lv 50, before that I spent most of my play time in the 30's. When I hit it I found that I did not have to grind the character, instead I could assist or explore far more difficult areas alone or in groups. Therefore I could help others successfully survive and reach their full potential at my leisure. Its not a race, its a process.

To each their own. Some like it slow, some like it fast.Gwain wrote:All in all, I spent eight years bringing Gwain to lv 50, before that I spent most of my play time in the 30's. The point of the post was not to be critical of anyone's leveling rate, least of all my own, but rather to find out what people aspire to after that magic number.
I intensely dislike standing around in the market square chatting. I can handle it for short bursts but then I want to get out somewhere and do something. There's a handful of things I like to do, but I'm wondering if others are finding ways to "generate content" that I haven't thought of.

I'd be interesting in having one of these to use as my avatar if You've done any of mine. But yeah, I'm one of those... currently only one of my characters is at 50, once I hit 40 - 41 for spell casters I'm out of the grinding game. There's a huge world out there to explore. Just need to find one or two people who're willing to go though some faith rp does restrict choices quite a bit.Lysha wrote:Draw comics/other people's PCs. >_>

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
The end was about being slow and steady, the rest of the post actually does not reflect a quick or slow leveling rate. But yes, if someone is having trouble finding worthwhile activities when lv 50, they can always help someone else out with their own questing or something. Sitting in the market is nice for some, but there are other places.

As someone with really only one PC, I feel that what you do after you hit level 50 is approve your concept for the character. This is when you cease to rely upon content provided and you begin to provide content for yourself and/or others (in large part). While you may continue to work at improving this skill or that skill, doing this quest or that quest, you are primarily left to discover what will fill most of your time. Will you socialize? Lead (or found) an organization? etc.

I agree with Harroghty. Its a good mission statement too for life after lv 50.

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
I started exploring areas I've never gone into. One of my biggest projects was exploring the Underdark, something that kept me busy for at least a month. It was long, dangerous, and fun. I know there's other areas that I've never been to, or areas that I haven't been into for years. When you're level 50, and have some similarly-powered friends, you can really delve into the further out-there areas. You can set your mind to trying to lead a faith, or sponsor/apprentice other newer characters. Body-retrieval for those who've gotten into a bit of trouble can always be a diversion because, let's face it, death happens.
I feel like having a high-leveled character takes a certain pressure off, too. I feel guilty on my alts who remain at a low level for a long time, like I'm slacking off. I tend to prefer roleplay to leveling, so it's a relief to already be level 50 already and not have to worry about it.

Re: Max Level - What do you do?
After level 50 I would say you have only touched the tip of the ice burg, especially if you play a wizard or priest. If you're into grinding then you will be set up for hundreds if not thousands of more hours. There are also more quests out there than you can imagine. I have a character who has more hours and glory than you can shake a stick at and I still stumble onto quests. Also the staff has been keeping things fresh with constant imm run quests that include very fun and interesting story lines. These have kept me busy with not only RP in FK but with researching the elements of the story as well. Sparking up random sparring tournaments is also a good way to kill time. With this game I always use the philosophy if you go out and search for it you'll find it. RP, quests and items are out there if you search for them no matter the level. That being said, it has always been a dream of mine to own a large shop.
Re: Max Level - What do you do?
Having just reached the 50 milestone... I have been just building my knowledge of the game by wandering around. Creating my own maps of areas and continuing to RP wherever I can find (always been my priority) with my new schedule change and less hours to play.
Re: Max Level - What do you do?
When I get to level 50, I plan on tormenting and antagonizing a certain Malarite who expects to fight a cute and lovable copper haired Ranger in a glorious battle!

I'm sure you'll be delicious.Aysa wrote:When I get to level 50, I plan on tormenting and antagonizing a certain Malarite who expects to fight a cute and lovable copper haired Ranger in a glorious battle!
But yes, that's the sort of epic roleplay I am trying to build. Long running themes and such. I have lots of plans but have difficulty actually putting them into action.
Re: Max Level - What do you do?
I sit in a room typing who look score until someone wants to rp with me.
