Hello,
So to start I'm new to muds. I was going through the "tutorial" and finally got a brass key, opened a door had to set my combatmode to kill, fight a person, he gave me a peg, I used the peg to get across the bridge room. I got over there was exploring and got killed by a gibberling. Well the npc that I was talking to prior to entering this area pulled me out, but neglected to grab my items attached to me. Thankfully he had a weapons rack that he didn't mind me pulling another staff out. So I go back down there try to cross the bridge room again, and there is no peg there. So for the next two hours I kill gibberlings to try to get another key to drop but no luck. Now today I start killing gibberlings for another hour and no key drop.
I want to know if I'm doing something wrong, if the area is bugged or what I should do now?
Thanks for any and all help.

Re: Stuck in Starter Area
Try to use the ask channel in game. They can follow you online and help you out from there.
Re: Stuck in Starter Area
I did before I left for class this afternoon and was directed to ask the forum. When I get home, I can do the ask channel again.
Re: Stuck in Starter Area
What happened to your corpse? I would suspect that your peg is in your corpse
Re: Stuck in Starter Area
So my corpse is in the second half or past the bridge which I can't get past because the peg is no longer there. I don't remember taking the peg after I placed it either.
Re: Stuck in Starter Area
If I recall correctly at the beginning there is a corpse of a wizard or something like that. I remember there were gears that seemed from dead characters. Try to check it.
edit: other thing, if you type "recall" what happens?

Re: Stuck in Starter Area
The trouble it looks like is, once you have everything to cross the bridge, if you cross the bridge there's no apparent way to get your things if you die over there. Because you require a certain item to get to the other side, which is behind a locked door. Once I received my item to unlock that door, I wasn't able to get another item to repeat the process. If the mob that spawns the item in order to unlock the door continually spawns it, it may be a fix. Providing it checks to see if you currently have that item in your possession, otherwise random items to unlock doors will be strewn about everywhere.
I may be missing the obvious answer to this, but having run through it myself to see if there was a means of getting reentry to the locked door, I didn't find anything.

I didn't see a wizard corpse as an item or even in a room description anywhere, and typing recall with no desc but an authorized name, it took me back to Halimar as a level 2 char.Vaemar wrote:If I recall correctly at the beginning there is a corpse of a wizard or something like that. You'll shed your blood, your bodies fall. That is the price you'll pay to cleanse you of your sins. Vicious and cruel, let's kill them all.
Let's kill them all.
Let's kill them all.
Re: Stuck in Starter Area
Thanks everyone for the replies! Last night when I got back from class I played a little bit and my original corpse had been moved to the first room right as you enter the cellar/basement/dungeon of the Dripping Dagger. It still had my things so I didn't need to re-get anything I could just continue where I left off.
