I am writing because I am curious. I'm going to use Wizards for an example because I'm most familiar with them.
I know wizards only get shortblades and brawling, but Elves are proficient with Longsword/Rapier and bows. Realistically is there any way to code this so an elven wizard could then use a Longsword or Rapier or even a bow?
I don't mean to single those two out, but they were the most obvious that came to my mind as I sat down to write out this post.
I'm just interested in what people thing of allowing the Racial proficiencies as well as the class.
Thanks!
Racial Wpn Proficiencies vs. Class Wpn Proficiences.
A traditional explanation I've seen is that wizards and magic casters spend all their time in the persuit of magic and none in the pursuit of swordplay, though I am not sure at all if this applies to fk save the fact that spell play is often as effective as sword play, but you can't have one with the other meaning that it is rare to see any warrior adept at spell craft.

If you want it badly enough, couldnt you drop a feat point and add the weapon class to your list? I know I am very, very impatient when it comes to ideas like this and thats what I would do Up to you though, that is....whether or not the feat point is worth the rp. In my mind, the uniqueness of the rp almost always is....

A young male human looks at your claw, his eyes widen, "Wha-what is that on your claw?"
You look to the claw, stopping abruptly
You yell, "Git et off! Git et off!" and begin to hop up and down, shaking your hand,
voice turning to a girlish scream!
