Nixa's Soul Search

Post by Aysa » Mon Nov 14, 2016 12:13 am

I feel like I need to preface this conversation with a bit of "history". Nixa is starting to have doubts about her path. To say that she is soul searching at the time of this scene would be an understatement. This scene does take place prior to her talking to Truescar Anastacia and finally going through with walking away from Loviatar. For those curious, Nixa does have a bit of a cruel, sadistic streak... so an innoculous conversation did have some meaning. I personally enjoyed this scene because of the "Amulet" conversation going on at the same time as the "real" conversation is happening.

Lorelie walks in from the north.

Nixa offers a polite smile to Lorelie.

Lorelie gives you a lazy wave, 'Good... afternoon I believe.' She wanders over and perches on the edge of the fountain.

It is 3 o'clock pm, Sixthday, 5th day in the Month of the Storms.

Lorelie gets a clove cigarette from a pocketed long coat stitched with a motif of snowflakes and stars.

Nixa nods, 'It is an afternoon, yes.' She has taken up her own perch on a crate in an unoccupied stall.

Lorelie says 'I lose track sometimes.'

Nixa nods her head with understanding, 'And with all the cloud cover, it can be quite confusing.'.

Lorelie gets a fanciful glass of banana-apple daiquiri.

Lorelie holds a fanciful glass of banana-apple daiquiri in her right hand.

>>> Prath tells you 'Greetings, little Raven. How do you fare this afternoon?'

Lorelie says 'Elves have a different way of seeing time.'

>>> You tell Prath 'Oh... I am well, I suppose.'

You ask Lorelie 'Oh?'

>>> Prath replies to you '*chuckles lightly* I heard a bit of hesitance, what is on your mind?'

Lorelie says to you 'It is a bit difficult to notice the passage of days at times. They go by so quickly.'

Nixa grins and nods her head, 'That... they do. That they do.' She exhales.

>>> You tell Prath 'Just... soul searching, I suppose.'

Lorelie drinks spirits from a fanciful glass of banana-apple daiquiri.

Lorelie says 'Woah, stroNg drink. ExcusHe me.'

Nixa giggles a little at Lorelie, 'Best for being on a beach somewhere.'.

Lorelie says 'I used to be able to drink a lot more Before it went to my head like this.'

Nixa wrinkles her nose, 'I could never hold my liquor. I drink wine sparingly and in the company of friends.' She tilts her head, 'Though, my friends always try to see how quickly they can get drunk.'.

Lorelie puffs on a clove cigarette, and grey smoke plumes from it.

Lorelie says 'There was a time long ago when I would spend mosht of my time drunk.'

>>> Prath replies to you 'Ahh? Tell me more about this, little Raven. Are you finding solace in the Darkness, and becoming scared of the Light?'

Nixa wrinkles her nose, 'Oh, I could not do that. I would hate having a lack of control.'.

>>> You tell Prath 'No, there is no solace in the darkness. But the light is much too bright.'

Lorelie says 'I used to spEnd a lot of time angry. Drunk and angry seemed like a good combination at the time, alThOugh now i know that was probably a bad idea.'

Nixa furrows her brow, 'How did you overcome your anger? How did you let go of your rage?'.

Lorelie says 'I met KAden. That changed everythiNg for Me.'

Nixa nods her head with a weak smile, 'I suppose love can do that.'.

>>> Prath replies to you 'Ahh, you are becoming a creature of the Twilight then, more so than before, maybe even delving into the Night from time to time. Worry not, the coolness of the Night will draw you in, soon enough.'

Lorelie says 'Well, before I met Kaden I spenT a long time on Evermeet. That changed things for me as well. If I had not met Kaden I probably would have gone baack.'

>> Prath replies to you 'Like the breath of winter on the back of your neck, cold and unyielding, yet empowering and dangerous.'

Nixa shakes her head with confusion, 'I am not certain what... Evermeet is? I am going to assume it is not an endless courtesan festival.'.

Lorelie says to you 'Evermeet is the Green Isle, it is the elven homeland off of the mainland.'

Nixa nods her head, 'Ah, you went back home... so to speak.' She turns reflective for a moment.

>>> Prath tells you 'The faerie are not the key to your... redemption, little Raven. The more your heart delves into the twilight, and the night, the more they will hate you. Just words of caution'

The sun slowly starts to set in the west.

Lorelie says to you 'Yes, in a manner of speaking. Evermeet healed the damage that had been done to my heart and soul.'

>>> You reply to Prath 'They already are wary of me.'

Nixa smiles weakly, 'I am happy that you could find healing for what troubled you.' She shrugs, 'Do you find that your songs held more emotion for you, either when drunk and angry... or going through the healing process?'.

Lorelie considers for a moment and then shakes her head, 'No, music is something different entirely for me. It puts me in a place where I am not angry or anything like that. Music is almost like being on another plane to me.'.

Nixa nods her head, again thinking or turning a bit reflective on that comment. She gives pause, but then offers, 'I suppose I could see that. When I sing the songs that my nanny taught me, I feel like I am that child again. Another world. A different world.'.

Excellent example showing how much intricacy and variety of a tired and doubtful "soul seeker" can be put into a short log. Thumb up for parallel bi-conversation, although it felt more like Nixa's own conscience or devil's (?) advocate.
No! I don't want to be a "Sword Novice"! I wish to be a "Whip" or "Crossbow Novice"! Swords are so... mundane...

To me, when this conversation happen... I felt like Nixa was trying to find hope in how to get over her sadistic side by talking to Lorelie, but then Prath ... serves as Jiminy Cricket or that little devil on her shoulder. To me, that is the beauty of this scene.
