Mithril Hall closed?
I recently created a new Dwarf character, eager to RP the entertaining nuances and speech of Dwarves. From reading posts, I can tell Mystra loves Dwarves' uniqueness. =) Anyway, I did my research on them and all, but when I got to character creation, I couldn't choose Mithril Hall as a starting location. I didn't read anything about it being closed, and my alignment was lawful neutral. My only options were Waterdeep and Zhentil Keep. Is this because it's my first Dwarf character, so I shouldn't hop right into MH right away? Oh, and I ended up taking WD as my starting location, of course.
Thanks for any help!

It says on the "getting started" page that MH is for good and neutral aligned dwarves.

"Mithril Hall: This is a good and neutral dwarf only starting point. "

As it stands I am fairly sure that you have to be good aligned to select Mithril Hall as your hometown. I also do not believe the kismet system has been fully applied to the hometowns and such as of yet. I think they are waiting for the new races to put it all in at the same time. I hope this helps.

I'd think MH would be more of a neutral area. Since it's such a mining-oriented area, then the dwarves who live there would be concerned really just with their own minings, not wanting any trouble or to be a hero or anything. But, I can understand that you had to close it off because of complications.
Another question then, do you think my character should be any less "Dwarfish" now that he started in WD instead of MH? Like, should he have less of an accent or be less hostile towards elves? I realize this is all open to the RPer, but I just wanted some opinions on what would make sense. Thanks!

I understand what you mean but if I think too much about that statement I get VERY confused.
Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.
Gwain seems to display a look of complete horror for a second...

Argent....dwarven speak is required, but thickness is up to you. Tretch's speak is VERY thick at times, and others....just plain confusing. I am pretty sure I made up some dwarven words along the way that just sounded good at the time. lol. Then again, I always view dwarven as a kind of drunken scottish language with some dwarven words I found mixed in. It makes for some interesting quotes. Just remember, the key is not to be anything that could be viewed as a dwarf speaking like a human
A young male human looks at your claw, his eyes widen, "Wha-what is that on your claw?"
You look to the claw, stopping abruptly
You yell, "Git et off! Git et off!" and begin to hop up and down, shaking your hand,
voice turning to a girlish scream!

There is now help for the Dwarven accent.. I don't know if I can post it here.. so perhaps if you just asked your local dwarf about it.. they should know about it now, I hope... I know of one dwarf that does...Braeck Bonesplitter.....we had a kewl convo about it......made me want to make a dwarf just to see it work..hehehe
