Grapple a passive skill...so if monks ever come around or someone wants to rp a fighter who loves his fist more.
A skill that when fighting unarmed and your opponent is armed you grapple with him and throw his aim off. It could be anywhere from when he strikes so and so steps in and punches or shoves the mans wrist to veer off. or even catch the blade between his hands andpush the blade out of the way which could then open up another skill to 'counterattack' when he is off his guard.
kinda like an unarmed parry/riposte -chuckle- makes sense though. It would make sense for unarmed fighters to wear the gauntlets in terms of a thick band of metal on there wrist so they could deflect blows like that as well....just an idea!

certainly we can forgo the monk class if we make a few skills that give advantages to brawling warriors.

True but some monks depending on there god are at times granted healing abilites or other type of monkly skills that let them harness there ki, chi, inner energy what have you. and other styles of fighting. Although monks hold back from fighting until they are forced to ..If i remember that right.

yes, but we don't want to make a monk class right now (see thread on General Discussions) thus we look at how compensation could be possible where a warrior/fighter RPs a monk.

Last time I checked which was a few months ago, NO monks were allowed into the game, (fighter RPed as a monk, etc.) I don't know entirely if this was what you meant by compensating, but I believe that when monks are available they will be their own class.

there are skills and feats that will improve the unarmed combat skill already in the mud you just have to look for them but it's always grand to see new ideas.

No monks are allowed for RP? That is odd...

Yes, from what I understand the applications are not being accepted, and if they wish monks then they would probably make a warrior subclass, or perhaps when applications are being accepted again.
