Abyssal vs. Infernal

Upon looking at my language list, I've noticed Abyssal and Infernal as languages which can be learned and, as I don't know a whole lot about FR in general, I was wondering if someone could tell me what exactly the difference between the two is is. Are they used in different planes or by different demons? Is abyssal used in the Abyss while infernal is used in Ghenna (sp?)?

I'm not sure where else this would go, sorry in advance if it's the wrong forum.

Abyssal is the language of Demons and Chaotic Evil outsiders. The planes of The Abyss and Pandemonium are where they would be common.

Infernal is the language of Devils and Lawful Evil outsiders. The planes of Baator and Gehenna are where they would be common.

Both languages share the Infernal Alphabet.

Alright, thank you very much for clarifying that...so would alignment of a tiefling determine which language it would be more likely to use/favor?

I would think the heritage would matter, whether or not the tiefling is descendant of a demon or a devil or one of the other outsiders from those planes.
