I was thinking about a different way to have traps, perhaps instead of the same thing for almost every trap, it could have a more distinct echo for if it hits or misses you.
An example would probably work better to explain:
Instead of:
You avoid a deadly falling stone trap.
It would be:
A large, heavy boulder comes crashing down at you, narrowly missing as you roll out of the way.
Or another example, instead of:
You trigger a minor poison gas trap.
It would be:
A weak cloud of gas sprays into your face, catching you right as you inhale.
Was thinking this might spice traps up a little bit and add a bit more flavor to them.
Feedback is of course, always welcome.
Thanks,

I love the idea, Glim, and your examples are great! Not sure where it comes on the priority list, though. Also, for newbies, leaving the old echo in parentheically may help them understand what's going on:
A large, heavy boulder comes crashing down at you, narrowly missing as you roll out of the way. (You avoid a deadly falling stone trap.)

I know a lot of people who RP it out that way
You avoide a heavy blah stone
smote leaps out of the way pulling (someone else who it missed) with them
It depends on your style of RP and how deep you want to get in to...
Also... if you have a group of 8 people and they all avoide or even not... the big echo will give much spam to those with telnet
