[Trade] Woodworking

So, after spending several hours evaluating the current woodworking system, I think that it is missing something. I realize that this might be a pain to code or implement, but it would be really cool.

No matter what type of wood I use to create something, all objects have the same basic name.

a wooden <itemname>

I realize that this is also not a bug, but I think it would be really neat if whatever type of wood you use to create it (ash, maple, ebony) would be reflected in your end product.

For example, if I were to make a club from a piece of ebony, the end product would look something similar to this:

an ebony wood club

And for maple:

a maple wood club

....and so on and so forth, you get the idea.

I agree, that would be pretty cool. I wouldn't think it would be too difficult. It would seem all you would need to do is take a similar code that is used with metal and just change some stuff around. But then again, I'm not a coder.

I was under the impression that if the source material was coded ebony (for example) that the resulting item would also carry that adjective. I felt sure that I'd seen PC constructed items in that form

Oak Ebony and Yew are the only specific wood object materials, so this may require some investigation of the source materials.

aye for ebony it cmoes out like. An ebony club. Not sure about oak yew or what have you I have only fiddled with ebony.

Alright then. I had used a piece of ebony from a merchant in a certain city, and it still came out like the rest of the constructs.

However, I wasn't aware that oak, ebony, and yew were the only coded woods.

Here's what I'm talking about:

You construct a container from a piece of ebony.

You are carrying:
a piece of bark (perfect)
a wood scabbard (perfect)
( 6) a piece of ebony (superb)

You finish woodworking.

The scabbard in the inventory display was made from ebony and there's no evidence that it was made from such.

As I suspected, the wood supplied by this merchant is item type wood and not item type ebony.
You give a wood merchant some money.
