WATERDEEP WAY

Waterdeep Way
N-Waterdeep Branc E-High Road W-Waterdeep Way
The road is heavily traversed and the cobblestones are worn smooth.
However for its careworn appearance the road is well maintained.
Many shops line the way with homes above them. To the north is the
Waterdeep branch of the famous Aurora Whole Realm's Catalogue.

{70}This stretch of cobbles forms a junction with the wider, busier road to the
east. {C0}Uniformed officers {70}of the {C0}Watch direct {30}carts {70}and
{30}wagons {70}here so as to avoid them causing a back-up all the way
along the road. The road is noisy with the sound of wagon wheels and
hooves on cobbles and at certain hours of the day there is a great
deal of jostling. Several shops and homes are built here, overlooking
the street. To the north stands the Waterdeep branch of the famous store,
'Aurora Whole Realm's Catalogue'.

Many shops line the way with homes above them. The shops sell all
manner of wares, from food to armour. Interspersed between the shops
are the taverns that are so typical of Waterdeep.

{70}This street stretches east and west and forms a junction with another street
to the north. It is busy and for the most part the buildings that line it
either side are large, spacious shops. Interspersed amongst these are small
but {30}well-built taverns {70}that exist to provide food and drink for the harrassed
wagoneers, coachmen and the like who pass by. The smells of various sorts of
cooking hang in the air.

{70}This street stretches east and west, lined with good, thick cobbles that have
been smoothed almost slick by the passage of traffic. There are a couple of
large warehouses but most of the buildings here are shops selling all sorts
of wares. Carters and labourers can be seen offloading {30}wagons {70}here and
many of the shops remain open late into the night.

{70}The street here runs east and west, and forms a junction with a new street to
the north. The road is surfaced with small cobbles and the many buildings that
run down the street here are neat and well-built, their shutters generally
flung open to the air. Small alleys run down one side of several small shops
and buildings to provide access for the delivery handcarts that are trundled
back and forth from the {30}wagons {70}that stop regularly outside.

{70}Passing along the street, there is a subtle but definite shift in the
style of the buildings here. The houses to the east are smaller but taller,
whereas the houses and buildings to the west grow noticeably finer and more
spacious, and there is a shift in materials from mostly {30}wood {70}and
{80}rough slate {70}to good, sturdy and well-dressed {F0}stone. From here,
looking to the west, the rise of Mount Waterdeep is just visible.

Waterdeep Way
N-Warriors Way E-Waterdeep Way S-Leon the Fighte W-Waterdeep way
This road is heavily travelled. The road contains a mix of shops,
homes and taverns. The cobblestones that line the way are worn
yet well maintained. There are no pot holes that an unwary
pedestrian might fall into.

{70}This section of the road stretches east to west, forming a junction with a
wide road that heads directly north from here. {C0}City watchmen {70}direct
carts and wagons. Drovers herd {80}goats {70}or {30}cattle{70}, carters vie
and jostle for position and there is a great deal of noise come day or night.
To the west fine, impressive buildings rise up, and the slopes of {80}Mount
Waterdeep {70}can be seen to rear up in the distance, a {80}craggy, rocky
mountain {70}with only a few buildings scattering it's base.

Waterdeep way
N-Kingdoms Realit E-Waterdeep Way W-Waterdeep way
You are in the City of Splendours. Rising over the buildings
near you, you can see the towers of the walls of Waterdeep.

{70}The sound of rumbling carts and loud traffic can be heard coming from the
east and there are often stately carriages, as well as {C0}marching soldiers
{70}and the occasional liveried servant. The buildings are grand and very
formal. Many have {F0}marble steps {70}leading up to them and uniformed guards
barring their large double doors. To the west the slopes of {80}Mount Waterdeep
{70} can be seen rising up in the distance.

You are on the infamous Waterdeep Way. You are heading deeper
into the city of Splendours. Inns line the way.

{70}This length of street is kept in very good repair and the buildings that
stretch either side to the east and west are well-built and tend to have
their own grounds. {A0}Small gardens {70}can be glimpsed with a peek through
{80} barred gates {70}leading into beautiful courtyards and a continual
stream of various servants can be seen entering and exiting. The road
forms a junction with a street leading off to the north and to the west
the slopes of {80}Mount Waterdeep {70}can be seen rising up into the sky.

{70}Along the road here sturdy shops and large, refined houses intermingle with
several {30}large, wooden taverns {70}which stand ready to offer food and drink to
the various petitioners that pass by here. The street stretches east and
west, and to the south one large tavern in particular catches the eye.
To the west the slopes of {80}Mount Waterdeep {70}can be seen rising up into
the sky.

The street is bustling with carts and pedestrians all going
about their business. The odour of the sea is in the breeze
that teases your hair.

{70}The street here is well-surfaced and lined with several inns and taverns.
Shopkeepers ply their wares and try to coax passers by to stay or dine at
their establishment. The street turns a corner abruptly here.
A tavern with a sign of an {20}asp {70}painted onto it stands to the south, and
to the west the slopes of {80}Mount Waterdeep {70}can be seen rising up into
the sky. Occasionally {B0}griffons {70}can be made out launching off of the
slopes onto their patrols. There is a faint hint of brine in the air.

The street bustles with carts and pedestrians all going
on their own way and about their own business.

{70}The street turns a corner here and it also forms a junction with
another street that leads north. The cobbles are very clean. To the west the
slopes of {80}Mount Waterdeep {70}can be seen rising steeply up into the sky
and from time to time {B0}griffons {70}can be made out launching off of the
slopes on their patrols. There is a steady scent of brine in the air here.

{70}To the south here a small tower, four stories high, rises as a slim stone
pinnacle with a conical {C0}slate {70}roof. There is a strange sense of
quiet and calm about it and it appears entirely unweathered. This is Ahgairon's
tower, the resting place of the first Lord of Waterdeep. A little further on
to the north there is a large, well-appointed inn, and the cobbles stretch
east and west of here. To the west the {80}huge crags of Mount Waterdeep {70}
can be seen, dominating the skyline. {30}Griffons {70}in patrols pinwheel
over the sky and the scent of brine is strong here.

U-Darkness
The briny odour of the harbour drifts over the rooftops.
Sturdy wharehouses are interspersed with shabby tenements.
To your west is the Mountain Tower guard house and looming above you
is Mount Waterdeep. South is Lord Piergeiron's Tower, the "unmasked
Lord of Waterdeep".
A fountain spills crystal clear water from a dolphin's mouth here. (perfect)

{F0}Dominating the end of the street is the huge, stunning palace of the Lord
Piegeiron, the unmasked Lord of Waterdeep. It's high walls are built of
shining, white marble, and the whole structure stands proud as a bastion
of the Lord's Rule and of the might and splendour of the city.
{70}A junction leads away towards the north and to the west the {80}craggy
Mount Waterdeep {70}rises sharply to its magnificent heights - over 1500ft -
surmounted by a {80}tall lookout tower{70}. A couple of {80}gigantic
triple-catapults {70}can be seen on the slopes and a path leads upward
along the slopes of the mountain itself.
