The church of Torm has a rigid, military hierarchy divided into ranks and
duty titles. The faith ranks used in Forgotten Kingdoms are very similar
to those described in the 2d Edition AD&D "Faiths and Avatars" supplement
(Julia Martin, "Faiths and Avatars" (Lake Geneva:TSR, 1996), 165.) and no
challenge is intended by their fan use here.
The Tormish ranks are matched with generic faith levels and are indicated
by colors. The Unproven (Hopefuls) wear unadorned metal, the Faithblades
(Initiates) wear rose red, the Loyans (Acolytes) wear dragon green, Guar-
dians (Prelates) wear metallic blue, Champions (Inner Circle) wear dusky
purple, and Holy Champions and Vanguardiers (Faith Managers) wear silver.
(Clerics who reach the rank of Holy Champion are called Vanguardiers.)
The Tormish duty titles are (in ascending order): Patrol Captain, Revered
Messenger, Doorwarden, Seneschal, Templemaster, High Priest, and Priest
Inquisitor (the teachers and internal disciplinarians of the faith).
