Drink <room>, fill <room>
A suggestion for the drink and fill commands;
in rooms with types such as rivers or lakes, would it be possible to add the ability to drink/fill directly from the room?
It would make sense to me to be able to simply cup your hands, bend down and have a mouthful of water, if you're standing in/by a river.

Well i'm not sure water was polluted that much at such times... maybe around the cities, but else?
Most rivers run freely in the middle of the wilderness.
But that might be a wrong feeling.

In reality, pretty much all water in this game that isn't magically created or blessed is probably filled with bacteria. Drinking from a stream in FK is probably no more dangerous than drinking from a fountain since most of those fountains are going to be directly fed from some natural body of water.
Also, I like Tortus's idea. The one about the water, though. Not about the choking and dying.

Eh, I don't know why streams would be full of bacteria and all that other junk, or that you'd get sick from them. A lot of diseases and stuff just come from poor living conditions that would be in the cities of FK. If it was the case that 'all water probably had bacteria in it' then I don't even think that we would be around to this day, because our ancestors had to drink this filth ridden water in the middle ages. Just because FK doesn't have all these purifying filters and stuff that the water's unhealthy.
Personally, I'd trust drinking from a stream in FK more than I would drinking modern water.
But anyways, back to the point I'd think it'd be fun to have the drink and fill commands in rooms with streams, etc. But also could it be made with rooms adjacent to the water? Thataway we won't have to dive into the middle of a lake to fill our water skin.

heh. I was going to make that comment, but figured it wasn't important. In today's world, nearly every backcountry source carries a risk of infection, but that wasn't true even fifty years ago.
In FK, you're almost certainly safe unless you're unlucky enough to be down-stream from a rotting corpse...or a temple of Talona.

And yet, misplaced corpses polluting and even decimating an entire village population is not nearly unheard of in medieval times. This sounds more like themes for imm-run RP than something to be put into code though.
Besides, if we implemented a chance of illness brought by drinking water, we would have to code in ways to avoid that - such as the ability to boil the water. It all sounds like a lot of work to me.
In addition to the idea suggested, how about we have a way to collect water in a container when it is raining? It makes no sense to me when a character is dying of thirst while the sky is pouring. So...
>Collect <container>
a bit of lag later...
<container> is now partially filled with water

I think this is a pretty good suggestion. I can't count the times I have been out in the wilderness and wanted to drink from some river. Now for poisoning water....I don't think there needs to be a % chance unless..... Now we got this whole religion for this sort of thing. Talona might like it if her followers had something to do that can actually be done. I my self feel it would be cool if they could poison stuff other than fountains. THAT could stir some rp huh? huh?
I am ready to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter.
What're the chances of someone randomly dropping a corpse into a stream several thousand miles away from any civilization? Animals clean up after their kills, and humans would have a very slim chance of polluting a river. I don't see why it's such a big problem. If this is put in with chances of disease can I politely ask that it be put in place for every fountain in the game? You'd be more likely to get bacteria from them anyway.
