This is my suggestion to make skills a bit more useful than they are currently .
Upon achieving journeyman level on them you would get a one-time bonus
to the following skills.
-Knowledge Arcana: +2 Bonus to Spellcraft.
-Knowledge Geography: +2 Bonus to Track.
-Knowledge Religion: +2 Bonus to Turn Undead
-Knowledge History: +2 Bonus to Identify
-Knowledge Planes: +2 Bonus to Shadow Walk, Astral Walk, Gate.
-Knowledge Nature: +2 Bonus to Control Weather, Shapechange.
[SKILLS] Knowledge
I might take it a step further and add 'Bardic Knowledge' This would be, of course, for bards only. And Bardic knowledge would only reach GM is all those other knowledges are GM. Hense, near impossible. But as the bard increases in Bardic Knowledge, he or she would get a slight bonus to casting. Or perhaps a bonus to charisma? Like plus one charisma at apprentice, and another plus one at GM? That would be interesting. And, those levels would be hard to get, so that might make it useful. Anyway, it's just a thought.
