Mages
A mage is a wizard who does not specialize in any one school of magic. As a
result they cannot compete with a specialist in their chosen school, but they
are not limited in the breadth of their learning, either. Mages may learn
spells from any school, and as a result tend to know more spells than do
specialist guild members. The price of this is that, not being specialists,
mages can not become grandmasters in spells of any school.
