Re: A possibility: global reset
I'm still around! Wooo I will admit, after reading this entire thread from cover to cover, that I am for the reset. My reasons why are as follows: I joined this mud specifically because TMC said it was D&D based. Either it is or it isn't. If it isn't change your posting. I'm a hardcore PnP playe...

Re: [Skill] Search
My next statement applies to other skills besides search: I have been told that the "armour check penalty" is being looked into. When you wear light, light studded, newbie gear in the temple; which is light, you receive checks when hiding, sneaking, peeking, stealing, etc. So I am fairly c...

Re: [Skill] Search
I always thought of the 'search' skill as noticing subtle differences in your enviornment. The differences in grains of wood for a secret panel, a slight draft coming from, seemingly, nowhere, the extremely tiny hole, which appears to be a knot; in the wood, of a treasure chest... In PnP version, I ...

Re: [Skill] Knowledge
Well.... We had an extensive discussion on the chat about this today. The way it was explained it to me: [Knowledge] skills are worthless. But, others said it had benefits. I'm still unsure if it does or not. As Horace stated earlier, "You should just use wiki and learn about the stuff...."...

Re: Menu Option: Who List
Is the real issue here not using OOC knowledge IC, which has nothing to do with the "who" command?

Re: [Skill] Knowledge
You are missing my point entirely, so I'll state it as simply as I can. It is a suggestion. It would be neat. It could add RP. I don't care if its implemented now or mulled over for the future, or how high it is on the list of priorities. Horace: In response to your post, I try not to read articles ...

Re: [Skill] Knowledge
Post One to Julthain: The Market Square is huge and I can actually be talking to someone else, greet them and you can pretend to overhear, but I do not have to greet you. So, sitting there and demanding skill gains is unappropriate. I gained my information from the greet helpfile. Horace: Many peopl...

Re: [Skill] Parry
"Being the bad guy": I don't care if it stays or goes, I'm just going off of core rules. I was not seeking to get it removed. But, this goes back to the age old, FK vs FR rules. I joined this mud believing it was a D&D 3.5 mud, as stated on TMC. Like I said, if parry, shieldwork, dodge...

Re: [Skill] Parry
I personally would not mind seeing dodge / parry removed. As stated, anything that has to do with defense in combat comes from armour class. It is considered all encompassing.
If its a balancing issue, perhaps we could find some small way to work around it?

[Idea] QLOG
Is it possible to change the QLOG command a bit? Perhaps when you type "qlog" it shows what you haven't completed. As well as implementing qlog complete, to show which ones you HAVE completed? Just an idea

[Skill] Knowledge
I propose that knowledge skills be teachable, by players, to GM level. I love the idea of having knowledge on your character. But, after a while, I feel as though the knowledge levels do not reflect my character. Feraael, who is a ranger; not the brightest either, has learned a great deal about FK a...

Re: Caravans (Periwinkle Blue)
I personally would like to add in my two cents. I believe some stipulations should be placed on owning a wagon. Or... everyone will just own one and set it somewhere... Making it act like a mobile home. Much like the way carts are used now. I've noticed there is a merchant's guild in the game. I am ...

Re: Rogue skills
In PnP version there is "bluff" and in battle you can "feign" catching your opponent off guard, thus their dex modifier is dropped, allowing for a sneak attack. Correct me if I'm wrong, though I believe it normally takes a full round to "bluff" your opponent then you ma...

Re: Rogue skills
Hmmm, I don't know what kind of armour you are wearing. If its light, studded, or even medium... This has a huge affect on the dodge skill, this I know. This I've tested. As for "uncanny reflexes" did you mean "uncanny dodge"? This only allows you to maintain your dexterity bonus...

Re: [Skill] Track
Oooooo very in depth with the wounded status / blood trail. To add on to that it could be as follows:
a bear walked east from here
a tall, heavy humanoid ran north from here
a small, light humanoid walked south from here
a horse galloped west from here
a bear walked east from here
a tall, heavy humanoid ran north from here
a small, light humanoid walked south from here
a horse galloped west from here

Re: [Skill] Track
Oh, yes, sorry Namic. I totally agree!!! "A blue eyed moon elf" went north is unacceptable. I like the above statement:
a short humanoid went north
a bear went east
I think its best

a bear went east

Re: [Skill] Track
I believe that if used, the echo would only list tracks your character can read. Strictly based off of your skill. In PnP version I believe its possible to track animals, etc, over shit like water, rocks, etc. Now, maybe in FK, this is a little excessive. So I'd leave those decisions up to people wh...

Re: [Skill] Woodworking
Ok I mislead you, I realize that people sell gems and ore, or bars of metals. Its grand that people who use the precision forge are able to purchase items from smiths. But, this topic of conversation leads to my closing statement. I now ask, does Gilain have wood working? If he does not have wood wo...
