Dismiss
Syntax: dismiss <target>
dismiss <petname|mountname>
dismiss <cartname>
dismiss <target> will force your charmed mobile to follow itself and
will negate the charm effect.
dismiss <petname|mountname> will also dimiss your pet or mount. This
can only be done if you are in the same room as your pet or mount.
dismiss <cartname> will abandon any cart you own. Dismissing a
cart can be done even if you are not in the same room as the cart.
* The purpose of the 'dismiss' command is to PERMANENTLY give up your pet
or mount or minion! Use it only when you no longer wish them to be yours.
You will generally only do this because you have reached your minion limit
and are planning to obtain a different pet or minion.
* There is no means by which you can transfer ownership of a pet or minion to
another individual. You can order your pet or minion to follow someone else,
but this is only temporary - it remains yours and will only follow orders from
you. The inability to transfer pets and minions is intentional.
* The 'claim' command CAN be used to claim any unowned cart,
wagon, or similar device. You may use this command to reclaim a cart you
have dismissed, or to transfer true ownership of a cart.
* If you have a pet or minion who you do not wish to dismiss, but who
you do not want to have follow you for a time, use 'order <name> sit' to
make it stay put until you order it to stand again (a pet or mount can not be
set to follow itself). This requires the handle animal skill.
* In a few cases, pets will stand up again on their own after being
ordered to sit. You may use 'order <name> sleep' to get around this
problem, but please report the pet to the bug reporting forum, as it needs
a modification to its coding.
